Home Decor, Sugar Plums, Sweet Shoppe & a “ChristKiss” Tree!

This just all sort of happened, not sure how or why, but all of a sudden my kitchen is full of sugar plums, sweet treats and a “ChistKiss” tree! I have a baker’s rack tucked in the corner of the kitchen near the dining room whereI usually keep seasonal serving pieces and decor.  As I was getting ready to spruce it up with some Christmas things, I got an idea…{the Grinch always comes to mind when I think this…as in a WONDERFUL, TERRIBLE, AWFUL IDEA! Ha Ha!} So I thought and I thought and I thought,  “How about a Sweet Shoppe?”  Why not!!!

Lollipops, candy canes & a Gum Drop Tree, cupcakes & peppermints,  there’s so much to see!

A Cookie Jar tree, cakes on a plate and cakes under a home, a platter for sweets…

and the toys found a home!

and this little “Sweet Shoppe”

is now just divine!

Across from the Sweet Shoppe is banister to the back stairway.  Some years I decorate it and sometimes I don’t…but again I suddenly got another idea, another wonderful, awfully good idea!  I had a garland that I didn’t use in the family room, and a box of glittery fruit that I bought years ago. I hadn’t used the fruit my decor for a while because it didn’t seem to fit in with the more modern decorations I have been using.  I still love it and couldn’t believe I had never used it in the kitchen!  This was not on my to do list that day but I couldn’t WAIT see how it would look!

It looks great at night too!

The glittery fruit looks so great with the sparkly sweets!

You can almost smell cinnamon and gingerbread!

The evergreen garland mixed with the bright lime green garland really updates this look and makes it work with my funkier decor.

On the kitchen island there is a combo of the candy and fruit with a canister full of glittery berries, a sugar frosted tree, a sugarplum fairy

and a “ChristKiss” Tree! My wonderful bestie BL brought this to me the other day!  She knew it would be perfect for my “Sweet Shoppe!”  She made it especially for me, and even used red & silver because she knew that was my color scheme this year.  She even brought extra Hershey’s Kisses to replace the ones that are eaten!  She is the best!

  1. You say you love Christmas, and it’s surely obvious!!! Wow! This is great! Perfect for the kitchen area! Kids young and old would be hyped up about it!!! If you actually make some of that gingerbread, slide a piece my way, please! 🙂

    • Thanks Alycia, I probably won’t get around to making gingerbread! I really wasn’t planning to do any of this, I guess I got carried away! Totally worth it though when my grandson’s eyes popped out of this 4 year old head! He was thrilled to have a peppermint and play with the Santa and sled, now that’s SWEET! Thanks so much for your visit and support!

This is so sweet, and I noticed that you put all the sweets up high on the baker’s rack — hopefully, safe away from kids and grandkids. Love all the pastel colors and all the elements together are so sugar plummy. Joni

    • Yes, my grandson knows he can play with the toys on the bottom and he can choose 1 peppermint from the jar and 1 kiss from the tree during each visit. His brother isn’t walking yet,so it’s safe so far! Thanks for stopping by!

No sugar coating here!!! Love your Sweet Shoppe! Very cute. That kiss tree wouldn’t last long in my house – it would be stripped clean in no time.

Hey, I think your blog might be having browser compatibility issues.
When I look at your blog in Chrome, it looks fine but when opening in Internet Explorer, it has some overlapping.

I just wanted to give you a quick heads up!
    Other then that, terrific blog!
