Are you itching to get out in your garden?
Does it look sad and pathetic like this?
I have some very hearty flowers that I like to plant this time of year. Last spring I still had some pansies and winter plants, as well as pumpkins [!] in my planter when I brought out my special flowers
Nothing survived this year, and I was longing for some color
This metal flower had really faded out and needed some perking up
Nothing that a little glossy craft paint can’t handle. Just a couple of small jars of color and a brush and it was as good as a bright new bloom
A recent trip to the local nursery Hobby Lobby yielded some more carrots for my vegetable section
and another large and happy bloom to plant with my giant daffodil
These photos were taken last Sunday when it was a sunny 70 degrees.
Monday it was 27. Which is why I always plant metal flowers this time of year, so I can have a weatherproof garden~
You never know when you might want to have a Garden party!
Of course it’s a good idea to do some indoor gardening too
You can’t ever have too many flowers~they bring such life to any space…
Even those grocery store “awfuls” can look good tucked in a glass inside a flower pot [sorry, I hate the dyed flowers]
A few glue dots and a cute ribbon and you have a fresh new look~
Nothing says spring like flowers!

Wow, I’m lovin’ the tulips, such great colors-enjoy:@)
Hi Jenna, I love how your garden grows 🙂 My violas got clobbered by our snow and haven’t recovered, normally they’ve rebounded from the cold and put on a serious growth spurt the beginning of March. I loved your creative Garden Party!
I dislike those dyed flowers too! We need a few days above freezing to get rid of the mountains of dirty ice, 70 would be heavenly!
Don’t forget the St. Patrick’s Day Party next Wed. Anything green or Irish! 🙂
I love everything you posted about! What fun vase ideas, with adding a little ribbon or tucking the vase behind the eggs. My pansies are just coming up and although I always plant purple and yellow, it is the yellow that is making me smile every time I drive up – happy to be looking towards spring!
I love every bit of color and cheer in this post 🙂 The painted carrots have to be my favorite. How cute!
Thanks Caitlin!
Hobby Lobby had those? I might have to run there today, they are so cute, and my flower boxes on my porch are just pitiful. I’d love to have some. Great how you freshened them up with spray paint, too. Thanks for the tip! -Dawn @ We Call It Junkin.com
History & Home link party, Tue-Fri, weekly
Yes, I did get them at Hobby Lobby! Have fun!
Great idea to paint faded garden decor. I’ll be copying, but your metal pieces look amazing with your paint freshening! I like your other colorful inspirations, too. Very much!
