Tablescapes, California Memories

This time of year I always get a little homesick for Southern California where I grew up…

We stole some summer weather this week on the Gulf Coast of Alabama, and I threw open the doors, put on a sundress, and happily set a table on the porch

A friend gave me these frosted glasses with California scenes on them …they bring back so many memories

So I’m bringing you a little California dreamin’ to brighten your winter day

Jenna, I love your California scene glasses with your sunny, colorful table! Your table looks so inviting with your view of the palmetto trees, white sand and water! I hope you only had the normal Gulf breezes and didn’t have any scary tornadic activity yesterday. ♥

  3. I truly love this! With a white landscape all around me I love to see color and the suggestion of tropical makes it even better! Love the little VW Van and the colorful dinnerware. That little beachy looking shirt on the wine bottle is too cute! Makes me think of song California Dreaming by the Mamas and the Papas!

What a lovely table! I love the van and what a sweet friend to give you those adorable glasses! Because my son now lives in CA, the ringtone for his contact on my phone is California Dreaming. Love that song!

  5. Oh, I didn’t know you were a California Girl, Jenna! Interesting. I’ve only been twice, both times to San Fran area, but I’d love to see southern Cal. No wonder beach living is in your heart!

  6. oh my gosh, the VW van is just too cute. Have a great week!

Aw, Jenna, you’ve captured the feel of Southern CA so well!! Love your VW van, wine bottle Hawaiian shirt, frosted glasses and brightly colored plates! I know what it’s like to switch coasts. Here I am in So. CA, yet my heart always thinks fondly of my life back in NY. Rosie @ The Magic Hutch

Oh Jenna, what a wonderful way to reminisce your day of growing up. I didn’t realize you were from California. I love the adorable VW van (I think we all had a lille hippie life in us in those young tender years) and those wonderful glasses. Sounds like your weather has been perfect for beach living. I sure hope it won’t be long before I have my toes in the sand………….Love the tablescape.

  10. Jenna, I learned something new…I didn’t know you were from California! Was it culture shock coming to Alabama? Love your colorful table with the frosted California scene glasses and the VW van…so much fun!

Jenna, what a fun table. I love all of your California accessories. That VW van with the luggage and surfboard is so cute – I want one. Palm tree candle holders, and even a beach shirt for your wine bottle! I also love the bright, sunshine colors.

  12. I love the table, Jenna!
I’ve only visited Southern California once. I stayed there for two months the Summer I turned 14. It was an amazing Summer I’ll not forget. Walking to the beach and babysitting for a cousin on the Venice canals. The canals are quite a bit different nowadays. I was there the summer of ’57:-).
