Seasonal Sipper, the “Alabama Frosty” aka the “Melted Snowman!”

The other night HH and HHjr and I were trying to create a seasonal sipper, a festive cocktail for the holidays…looking through the liquor cabinet, where all kind of random stuff accumulates, we found a bottle of chocolate vodka, some white chocolate Godiva liqueur, and some White Creme de Cacao…and the “Alabama Frosty” was born!  This is so good we immediately looked into trademarking it. REALLY!  I was trying to think of a name, along the lines of a melted snowball or snowman when HHjr says, ” you ought to call it  “Alabama Frosty.”  He is so CLEVER! Of course, a melted snowman, the ONLY kind we have in Alabama!

I think I was subconsciously inspired by my snowman collection which showed up on the bar shelves this year…

I used to collect frosted and “ice cube” style snow figures, I have a skating family,

and some carolers, and one on a sled

and lots of snowman glasses

and some reindeer too

DSC_4995

these reindeer are wondering what happened to their buddy, “Frosty.” His hat is there but his black beady eyes are in the snow on the ground!

DSC_4994

they are quite confused!

This cautious snowman isn’t taking any chances, he’s wearing a bucket on his head for protection!

This wine bottle pretends it’s cold by wearing a fur, and guards the lone faux snowball…

Well, this drink will certainly make you forget the lack of snow, and you’ll be glad Frosty melted down into this wonderful concoction!

The drink is equal parts Dutch Chocolate Vodka, Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur, & White Creme de Cacao

It is a sinfully delicious combination!  A bottle of one of these liqueurs  with a recipe included would make a great host or hostess gift!

This is especially good with the dark chocolate covered pretzel twists that HHjr brought over…

There is much celebrating around here this year because Alabama is playing for the National Championship in January! Yea! See how happy the elephant is?

DSC_5025

To rim the glass I first tried simple syrup, sugar and water, and then moved on to egg white.  I added some sparkling sugar too for, well, SPARKLE of course!

DSC_5015

I’m not too successful with the drink rim thing, the coconut was so heavy it kept falling off, but I managed to get some on there! This is really no big deal, I’m not a big fan of stuff on the rim of my drink, but I did want to make it extra pretty for you!

Here’s the recipe:

ALABAMA FROSTY

Ingredients

  • Chocolate Vodka
  • Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur
  • White Creme de Cacao.

Instructions

  • Use equal parts of liqueurs and put them into a martini shaker with some ice cubes and shake, shake, shake.
  • Pour into a prepared glass.

If you have a good technique for rimming glasses with stuff, please let me know, I’m terrible at it!

  1. That sounds like a WONDERFUL drink!!! My, oh my!!! Once I get completely over this cold, that may have to be first up on the agenda! You made it look really pretty, too! I am enjoying your bar decor for the season. It looks great! Now about the reindeer eyes in the snow….what?!??!?!?!! 🙂

    • the eyes [black jelly beans] were supposed to be from the melted snowman! My original vision had been 2 mini chocolate chips floating on top of the white drink, like the snowman’s coal eyes…well, everything I tried just sunk right away, so I got frustrated and just put them by the base of the drink. I was wishing I had a snowman hat too, like yours!

YUM City! That totally looks amazeballs! I haven’t had a yummy drink like that in ages…

  3. you have a breath-taking display. love the reindeer wondering where Frosty went!
