Party Panache, “The North Pole”

Here’s another Seasonal Sipper for you to try, we have named this one “the North Pole!” It is beyond delicious!  The elves will be MERRY indeed!

Do I have your attention? I thought so!

James, the butler is serving drinks tonight, he’s got one waiting for you by the Christmas tree

My friend Alycia over at Tablescapes at Table Twenty-One told me that her butler, Geoffrey, dons a Santa cap during the holidays.  When James heard about that he insisted on dressing up also! He is going for a more casual look, sporting a red & white BAMA knit toboggan.  Such a cute idea Alycia, thanks!  Make sure you check out all her amazing tablescapes!

Did you notice there’s not one present under the tree? I hope Santa sends some elves over to help out!

This seasonal sipper has only two ingredients, which is dangerous because it is so easy to make!  Candy Cane Vodka and

Peppermint Stick Ice Cream of course!!

With a candy cane rim and a peppermint stick stirrer, this drink will take you straight to the North Pole!

or a festive way to get the party started!

North Pole Cocktail

Course Beverage
Cuisine American

Ingredients

  • 1 part Candy Cane Vodka or plain Vodka or Vanilla Vodka with a dash of peppermint extract, chilled if possible
  • 3 parts Peppermint Ice Cream
  • 1 part milk {optional}

Instructions

  • Partially melt ice cream by putting desired amount in a pitcher in the refrigerator and letting it melt to the consistency of a thick milkshake. Combine with chilled vodka and pour into prepared glasses.

Notes

OR
Put vodka and ice cream into a martini shaker with some ice cubes and shake, shake, shake until chilled and combined
OR
Put ingredients into a blender as you would for a milk shake add some ice or milk and blend
For rimming the glasses I put smashed candy cane pieces on a plate and brushed the rim of the glass with egg white

I had better luck holding the glass sideways and sprinlking the candy over the plate rather than spinning the up ended glass in the plate of peppermints

You can easily make this same drink “virgin style”, it is still as festive and special without the vodka!

  1. Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!! Thanks for the shout out!!! That’s so much fun! The moment I laid eyes on James, I knew there was a “family connection”!!! 🙂 James & Geoffrey are quite the characters, aren’t they? I like jaunty BAMA lid James is sportin’! He looks super sporty!!! As for this holiday drink…I must really be old because I have never even seen or imagined CANDY CANE VODKA or ice cream! What the what??!?!?!?!! My guests would all be laid out flat!!! I love the idea of using crushed peppermint candies to rim the glass. Pretty AND tasty! This was fun!

    • Yes, the drink is potent, but a little goes a long way, it’s also filling! I couldn’t resist borrowing your idea for the hat, we’ve had lots of fun with James already, moving him around. Can’t wait to see what you’re up to next!

I can see why James would want to dress up too! I love that. I have a large pig chef and he is wanting in on the fun. I am going to dress him up and see if any of the kiddies notice. This sounds wonderful. Your table is gorgeous too.

I agree, the tutorial Yvonne did was really easy and it worked. For a non-techy like me, that is amazing and I too have been wanting to include that. My friends get a little demanding sometimes!
