Tablescapes, 2012 Favorite Centerpieces

Playing with tablescapes, centerpieces and vignettes is really a passion for me, I am constantly changing, rearranging and tweaking things around my house. When the seasons change, I get so excited about bringing a totally new look to our decor, mainly by using what I already have in different ways.   Just because you always put that vase or those candlesticks on your table doesn’t mean you have to do that all the time.  Experiment, move things around, try some different color combos and HAVE SOME FUN!  Your rooms will feel fresh and new without spending a dime!   I have lots of ideas and inspirations for you coming up in 2013, but first of all I want to share some of my favorite centerpieces from 2012, it’s kind of like a review of the seasons…

These simple grocery store spring flowers were made dramatic by using a short square vase, packing them in, and adding bright accents of lime and orange.

These beautiful roses made quite a statement with only 4 blooms cut from the top of their stems and floated in a tall square vase. Invest in a few pieces you love and use them over and over in different ways.

DD’s summer patio  looked festive with a glazed gray pot from Lowe’s, turned upside down, set on a matching saucer with floating hydrangea blooms. On the top was a smaller matching saucer with more blooms.  She can use the saucers for simple serving pieces too, as well as plant something in the pot!

The beach house island is ready for a weekend with guests, I use my centerpiece for food storage as well as decor…

Summer vegetables of red, green and purple add a pop to my black & white kitchen.

This is my all time FAVORITE from 2012, I made this for a casual appetizer party and it was so fresh and summery. Guests kept commenting that they had never seen a vegetable tree!

When Fall is in the air…Apples abound and we kept mounds of them on the kitchen island.

Halloween is one of my very favorite holidays and so much fun to decorate for.  I kept treats and snacks in giant apothecary jars handy for hungry hands.

I used part of a silver tea service to set a table for 2  for some Witches Brew,

Thanksgiving was just around the corner….so I did treat myself to some Pottery Barn mercury glass pumpkins to use throughout the fall.  I can’t wait to get them out again next year!

We also had gender reveal party for DD in November, and I used the silver pumpkins and silver ornaments with some antique baby cups and rattles in the decorations.

I spray painted some pumpkins and added pine cones, gourds, and  velvet pumpkins for the Thanksgiving table.

In December I got a little carried away creating  the Sweet Shoppe.

And quick as a wink it was already Christmas Eve!  Were you good this year?

Beautiful ideas! I am always at a loss when it comes to centerpieces. Thanks for the inspiration. 🙂 Found you on The Answer is Chocolate!

    • Thanks Roxana! Stop back by on Sunday when I will post some favorite tables from this year and you can see more centerpieces. I appreciate your visit and comments very much!

  2. No doubt your vegetable tree was super innovative and cool!!! You had some really great centerpieces throughout the year! I’m with you on buying pieces you love and can find a billion uses for!!!! My favorite decorating season is Christmas hands down, although outdoor summer tablescaping runs a close second. This weird time between Christmas and Spring is my least favorite…for everything! 🙂

    • Now I know you & Ramon must love Valentines Day! I admit January is my least favorite month though, I think it’s all that lack of sunshine syndrome…Thanks for your lovely compliments…I am still trying to put Christmas away, are you? I have just closed my dining room off, closed the doors so I can’t see the mess 🙂
