Tablescapes, 2 please!

I found these plates at Home Goods the other day…I was NOT supposed to be shopping…I am NOT supposed to buy anything until March…BUT, at $3.99, I made a little exception…these are so cute and different…

I love the fanciful script text with the occasional heart…the words are so great, my favorite is faint in the lower right corner, I think that is adorable!

You can see of course, how I couldn’t possibly resist!

This will be a perfect spot for a cozy Valentine dinner for 2, snuggled up in our favorite chairs in the family room.

Cupids, hearts and sweet treats adorn this little stone table…

In the center is a heart bowl full of peanut M&Ms. Iit looks like the little seated cupid on the left is already nibbling!

There is a mini cake dome full of sugared jelly hearts,

  1. I totally give you a pass on not being able to resist. Who could?!??!?! The plates are cute as they can be! I wish I had some suggestions for a romantic evening for 2, but I’m tapped. I haven’t had to create or participate in a romantic evening in so long that my brain is rusted on the subject! 🙂 Just have a good time whatever you do!

  2. Great tablescape! I LOVE those plates!! (I would have caved in and bought them as well!!)

Steaks on the grill would be a perfect accompaniment to this beautiful table. Love is all around!

Your table for two is adorable! Love all the cupids and especially the Cupid glasses. Thanks for sharing, visiting from No Minimalist.

  5. I wouldn’t have passed those up myself! Way way cute. That table is set soo sweetly. That would be valentine’s enough.. Maybe some shrimp? Happy Valentine’s, xo marlis

  6. How pretty, I love the script dishes. I have a link party that starts on Tuesday’s and goes through Thursday, would love for you to come on over.

I would not have been able to resist them either, and I really like the rest of the dishes and flatware with which you paired them! Beautifully done!

What did you do – make a 3-month long New Year’s resolution? Really, no purchase until March? Good thing you found these plates to break the monotony and boredom of no shopping! The plates are adorable, and I have to ask…did you really only get 2? Didn’t you buy at least 4 or 6 for future tablescapes? (Not encouraging you to get into trouble or anything…) Your table for two is lovely, new plates and all!

    • Haha, that is an old post that I dug out of the archives for Susan’s party. I really do try not to buy new stuff, but I do have my eye on some plates from Anthropology, so please tell me to be good 🙂

I love your table and hate Home Goods for putting out stuff I can’t resist either. the closest Home Goods store is 65 miles away . I use to live near three stores. when I drove this week(the first real day off I have had in three weeks) they did not have these plates or I would have bought them also. I am real serious here If I send you a check for two plates and shipping charges could you get me two of these plates please? I don’t know when I could get out there again. please let me know if this doable ok. thank you Susie

    • oh Susie, of course I would but unfortunately I bought these 2 years ago 🙁 so sorry! I wish I had a cupboard full so I could send you some but I only bought 2…I have never had much luck at finding more than 2 matching things at HG, the people that buy full sets of stuff must either go everyday or live somewhere that no one else goes shopping! But I do think it’s more fun to have small sets, that way you can have more stuff!
