Home decor, Fun with Flowers

Time to play with Easter flowers! Whole Foods ran a one day special on tulips the other day, 3 bunches for $10~couldn’t pass that up!

I really wanted pink but the pink ones looked a little sickly, so I chose purple, orange and yellow

Last year I did find pink tulips and had some fun with jelly beans, blue grass and yellow peeps…

but this year I want to use something different… something fresh…like eggs!.  I had some white and brown ones so I began to experiment…I love how the brown ones are all different tones of the same brown, so pretty!

put some paper grass on the top

and tucked the tulips stems down into the glass

The lid just lays open in the back…it almost looks like the tulips burst forth and popped the lid open~

I have some marble eggs that I put into large glass vase

I just stuck the stems in, I like arrangements to look casual, not too perfect…they look more natural that way

An egg yolk yellow plate and a large square of moss provide a perfect landing spot for this pop of Easter in the family room

With just a few stems left I used a smaller vase and but some turquoise blue glass beads in the bottom

and put the rest of the tulips on the mantle

and Spring has sprung!

TIP:  When using glass vessels for flower arranging, vinegar is a girl’s best friend~

Just swish a little around the bottom of your vase and that murky, cloudy glass will sparkle right up!

Thanks so much for visiting today!

  2. WOW!!! Talk about brilliant color!!!!!!! And BARGAIN, to boot!!!You went hog wild with the tulips, and that’s a GOOD thing!!! I love the arrangement in the wire basket. It DOES look like they just popped right out and knocked the lid back! 🙂 That’s awfully cute! I love that you were able to find lots of uses for all your beautiful bargain blooms all over the house!

The other day, while I was at work, my sister stole my iphone and tested to see if it can survive a 25 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation.
My iPad is now broken and she has 83 views.

I know this is entirely off topic but I had to share it with someone!
