Tablescapes, Happy Cinco de Mayo!

According to Wikipedia, Cinco de Mayo, May 5th, is observed in the United States as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride. The actual date of Mexico’s Independence Day is Sept. 16. We love a holiday around here so we will celebrate just about any time for any occasion!
Things are finally greening up so the patio is ready for a party!
These two amigos, Carlos and Don Juan, are from San Miguel de Allende Mexico
After welcoming guests they like to hop onto the table to continue their entertainment
It’s the perfect time of year for an outdoor meal
Somberos are tied on the chairs for those who want to really get in the spirit of things
and this tilted pitcher will be full of Margaritas to insure the festive atmosphere!
Don Juan will serenade with his trumpet
and Carlos keeps things lively with his cymbals
Mini pinatas and Mexican trinket dolls join in the festivities
The places are set with colorful dishes
in mix and match colors
with clay serving pieces and hand painted glasses
The individual maize colored compotes are for salsa at each place, no double dipping worries here!
the glassware is mix and match too, a margarita glass with chile peppers, and one painted with limes, and a bright sunflower goblet
Sometimes Carlos puts down his cymbals and picks up the guitar
Ole! Mas cerveza, Mas tequila!! {Bravo! More beer, more tequila!} When we were in San Miguel de Allende it wasn’t Cinco de Mayo but they were celebrating something and they shot firecrackers and guns ALL NIGHT LONG for TWO NIGHTS! Mas cerveza, mas tequila for sure!!!

Hey there, Senorita Jenna! This table is really rockin’ the spirit of the holiday! I love the rusted metal caricatures!!!!! They are perfect! They, along with that colorful guitar, really take the table up a notch! The dishes are beautiful, and the whole scene you have set puts me in the mood for fun, LOTS of food, and a few margaritas. I’m with you on the individual salsa dishes. It makes it much easier for guests to enjoy their chips and salsa when they don’t have to concern themselves with double-dippers! I like that taco holder, too. I’ve never seen one of those. NEED!!!!!! We eat a lot of Mexican food here at home, and that would really come in handy! ALL of your food looks absolutely delicious! Makes me want it all RIGHT NOW!!! Muy bien hecho, mi amiga! As a Rodriguez, you have my personal stamp of approval! 🙂
I am beyond impressed with your Spanish Alycia! Thank you for all the lovely compliments~I think? I’ll have to get out my Spanish American dictionary!
Oh Jenna, my mouth is watering. Everything looks so good and your table is perfect for Cinco de Mayo, always a good excuse for a party. Hey, we Texas girls don’t need much of an excuse, do we? I’ll be missing fajitas, queso and guacamole this time around as we’ll be away. Rats!!
What a festive and colorful table for a Cinco de Mayo celebration! Carlos and Don Juan look like they are the life of the party 🙂 All your food looks muy bueno and is a veritable fiesta!
