Tablescapes, Beach Towel Tables
Sunday, sigh….I hope you have had a stellar holiday weekend!
After a long, busy, fun, filled week with family, they all left this morning…so we are basically jumping up and down, woohoo! really sad…
We often stay one extra day to get things back in order after which we will enjoy a leisurely meal overlooking the water~I hope~it has been a rainy weekend, and I took these photos earlier in the week when we had a quiet lunch~
Just the 2 of us, some blue skies and some sea shells
everything cleaned up, with peace and quiet on the menu
all the toys at rest on the sand
If you look closely you can see that the blue “tablecloth” is actually a beach towel~
Beach towels are great for using on tables in the summer time, they are bright, colorful and easy to toss in the washer when the meal’s over
This salad buffet we had earlier in the week was set on a beach towel too
Towels are a simple and fun way to add a punch of color, an unexpected table dressing
perfect for lots of different summer meals and parties
Fish place mats swim across the towel to provide landing pads for buffet items and the salad bowl
A blue spoon rest holds the sea shell forks
A pink adirandack chair hold napkins secured with a flip flop
A blue fish platter at buffets end holds bruschetta to nibble with the salad
A few candles and some simple flowers make an effortless summer buffet
It’s fun to see what you can come up with using everyday yet unexpected things…

I know what you mean about loving to have family but being a little relieved when it’s once again just the two of you. Our brood comes in about 10 days and I’m battening down the hatches!
Love your fun beachy table for two Jenna! And I love the towel and fish swimming across your island in your mats, bowls & platters too! We have had a long, rainy holiday indoors with family visiting. I’m ready to return to our normal routine 🙂

I really like the colorful towels! The adirondack napkin holder is my favorite thing on the table, but all the fish items are charming, too. Lovely scenery, too! 🙂

Great idea to use beach towels for tablecloths! I might steal that idea! Your setting is beautiful and your dishes caught my eye. The starfish in the centerpiece look like they are dancing. Love all your sea inspired dishes and accessories.
Yes i can imagine the sad, sad state of affairs!!! I love the idea of the beach towels.. i MUST remember that. Both settings look amazing. We had a rainy, cool week up here and have relished every single minute of it. xo marlis
I bought some beach towels last year specifically to use as tablecloths. It’s a great idea! Your waterside setting is gorgeous. I always love seeing the tables you set on your deck.

Yea for quiet, Jenna! Your table is fabulous and I was so admiring the seashell forks and see there’s a tutorial for them. Hooray, I’ll be checking that out. I have tried a beach towel, but more as a runner. I like it as a tablecloth…great idea and inspiration!! Enjoy your peace and quiet.
