Home Decor, Halloween Chalkboard Labels and Decor

Yesterday I mentioned these chalkboard labels that I found in the wedding crafts section of Hobby Lobby.  I was thinking about making my own with paint, but these were too tempting and easy.

They really work! You can wipe them off and rewrite, good as new!

I put some on white card stock, cut it out and added a piece jute for hanging.  Tie the knots behind the holes if you don’t want to see them, or use pretty ribbon instead of jute.

I pretty much want to put a tag on everything!  I have been busy with decorating the house too….

When Super Boy arrived the other day, he said, “That looks good! Why did you do that?”

“Well, I wanted to decorate the kitchen for Halloween…plus I can keep all the things we need for the tables right here ready to use~”

“Can I have some candy corn?”

“I was thinking we could make a deal~” I said

This is my “butler’s pantry” so to speak, a bakers rack in my kitchen between the kitchen and the dining room

Super Boy and I “share” this space. The lowest shelf is Super Boy’s 1 million piece Lego collection which can easily get out of control~ If you look closely you can see the Halloween stickers he used on his firehouse to decorate for Halloween~so sweet!

“Do you know what insurance is?” I asked, “It’s kind of like having a piggy bank, insurance means you have some money stashed away in case you need it.  So, I thought I’d give you some candy corn insurance~”

“Okay!”

“So,” I explained,  “When we ask you to pick up your toys or clean up your Legos, if you do it, you will get some more candy corn insurance.   And after dinner, or when Daddy says it’s ok, you can eat some!”

“Okay!”

I must say, that this is working out quite nicely!

Love those labels as potion ingredients Jenna! I picked some up at World Market a while ago I haven’t used yet but HL’s price is so much better and so convenient to use a coupon from your phone! Love your stack of books with timely titles including Fearless Entertaining! Once Super Boy spies those Skeleton Bones, you’ll have negotiate white cheddar crunchie insurance 🙂

    • I must tell you that the white cheddar crunchy skeleton bones taste terrible! I know you shop at WM, so I wanted to warn you that this stuff is very cute but tastes terrible! I was just sampling to make sure it was okay for guests, ahem 🙂
