Halloween Tree

I bought this “Charlie Brown look-a-like” tree with thoughts of a Halloween tree in mind.

I chose silver since it was neutral, and I wanted black ornaments to stand out.  Plus,  in case I wanted to do something else with this little tree it wouldn’t be just for Halloween~

Before I left my favorite Hobby Lobby store, I already had plans for 2 more trees…

October is full of birthdays for us, so my little Halloween tree had to first go to a birthday party or 2

The craft stores are already full of Christmas ornaments and HL has a whole section of candy themed ones and non Christmas colors.  I couldn’t resist some polka dot balls and a few swirly thingys and sweets.  I put this aqua grapevine wreath from my Spring decor around the base of the tree and filled it with white paper and foil scrunchies from my wrapping supplies.

A princess party hat for the tree top

an oversize lollipop and some shiny wrapped gifts around the base of the tree

Polka dot ribbon and balls, and some girly girl things

and this little tree is ready for a party!

When the celebrations were over I asked Super Boy if he wanted to help me make a Halloween tree

He went right for the skeletons and the spiders

“Wait, let’s put some ribbon on  it first,” I said

and hang these black balls…I could tell he was losing interest…black balls are boring…

“You know what Gigi! We need a graveyard!”

“You know, for all the skeletons!”

“How are we going to make a graveyard?” I asked

“We could dig up some boulders!”  Yikes! Where was my cute little craft project headed?

“You could use tin foil or rocks,” says HH jr, but I had to step in quickly with a easier better idea~

Cardstock + scissors + sharpie= tombstone!  I bent the bottom edge under an inch and secured the tombstones to the charger with some tape.

“Let’s call it Skeleton Park!” said Super Boy

“You can make ghost out of these cupcake papers,” said HH jr.  Isn’t he clever?

Aren’t they cute!!

They are flying all over the place!

This Halloween tree didn’t need presents

It needed pumpkins!

Lots of pumpkins!

Alas these gray ones wouldn’t be staying, nor the cute orange tray~

They were going to DD’s for her birthday~ These are my best ones yet, I had to make a lot of practice ones for me before I dared make them for her.  I used the “sew and fold” method for these.  You can see all the pumpkins and tutorials here

There are still plenty of pumpkins around

to keep our little Halloween Tree company!

You won’t believe what this little tree is going to turn into next!

Thanks so much for stopping by, be sure to check out “Feelin’ Witchy,” for some more Halloween fun!
