Tablescapes, Fall Hydrangeas and Pumpkins

My crazy hydrangeas are still blooming!
They didn’t do much this summer. Too much rain and not enough sun I am thinking…But they have been going crazy the last month or so, they are about 6′ tall!
How do you set a table with summer blue and purple hydrangeas when it is 3 weeks before Thanksgiving and all you have is pumpkins and not a blue or purple element to go with them?
I started with a vase within a vase and decided to embrace the orange all around me
I filled it with excelsior moss and mini faux pumpkins
and piled lots of pumpkins around the base
It actually almost makes sense at this table where the orange pumpkins flanking the entry are visible through the side lights
and you can see the hydrangeas on the patio through the glass door directly across from the table
It’s kind of like bringing the outside in…so I gathered some more things that could possibly work
and ended up with an autumn table mimics the craziness of the seasons changing here in the deep south!
Large leaf place mats are topped with square rattan chargers, with a white dinner plate, orange salad plate, and a white ramekin.
And naturally the turkeys trotted in…
We are going to be dining on Pumpkin Pasta~ I’ll be sharing the recipe with you later this week~
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Your tablescape is lovely, but what I like most is the individual flowers at each setting. My favorite restaurant used to have tiny little bouquets at each setting with just a small flower or two. I loved the attention to detail. It was so welcoming.
Your hydrangea are gorgeous Jenna! How fun to still have some great color in the yard-enjoy:@)
Hi lovely lady.
Your Tablescape setting for two is beautiful, and the hydrangea in your centerpiece just make the table pop. Thanks so much for your sweet comments on my fall table. I am following you now on Pinterest, I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your family.
Diane
Nice pictures and I enjoyed the hydrangeas. Thank you!

Thanks Liz, I appreciate your nice comments!
You are so lucky to still have hydrangeas, the colors are beautiful! They look pretty anytime of the year, here is Pa. they are all brown but still kind of pretty.
Thanks so much Karen, yes we are still having 70 degree days…I think brown and dried hydrangeas are just as pretty as summer ones!
I love the point counterpoint of your design. I just used blue hydrangeas for a table this week. I’ve decided that they are a flower for all seasons! Works for me. The colors on your table are delicious. Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay
Who would have thought hydrangeas would still be blooming, but wait, I forgot you are in the south! The purple with the pumpkins is outrageous….love it!!
Love your beautiful hydrangeas paired with your harvest of pumpkins for the table Jenna! The colors are wonderful together and so unexpected. It was 70 here yesterday so I can only imagine how warm it was in Alabama this weekend. My nasturtiums are blooming like crazy right now but it’s supposed to get down to 25 later this week…brrrr!
:Lovely hydrangeas and tablescape.
Oh Iwish mine were still blooming! It was a great summer for them here! Your scape is bee utiful!
Colors, textyre, just great!
I think I found another color combination to try. It looks great.
Gorgeous table….love the hydrangeas and the colors you used 🙂
Lucky girl to have your own hydrangeas and even better that you have them for your gorgeous tablescape! The colors, textures and stunning!
Have a super day!

What a fun table with all those pumpkins and the turkey trotter! I’m here from Kathleen’s Let’s Dish ~ the Happy Wonderer
Jenna, you always have such original tables! I never would have thought to add the purple to all of the orange and it looks terrific. That cute burlap turkey that is on the bottle of wine is the cutest thing – love him! Great post!!
Jenna, those hydrangeas add just the right pop of color at you pretty table. I love all your layers and now I’m going to check out the turkey bottle topper……….
Wow! So surprised to see blooming hydrangeas this late, they are beautiful!! I agree with a few above, I never would have thought to mix the hydrangeas with orange pumpkins, but it looks great! I like how you clustered them around your vase.
Hi Jenna, I too, have hydrangeas blooming. It was a crazy summer season. I love your refreshing table and especially the stemware and your turkey bottle topper.
I am heading over to pin the tutorial.
Hugs, Ginger
Beautiful color blend and ideas for fall decorating! Thanks for sharing on Four Seasons Blog Hop!
Beautiful table! I ♥♥♥ the hydrangeas, mine were hit by a heavy frost a few days ago. Actually purple and orange go quite nicely together. I like that you piled the small pumpkins around the base of the vase.
Have a wonderful week, Jenna.
Sweet Lady! You have done it yet again! Thank you for sharing. Your stunning table will be one of the features tomorrow at the Make it Pretty Monday party at The Dedicated House. Hope to see your prettiness again at the bash! Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse
oh wow, thanks Kathryn!
Gorgeous! Love the blooms with the orange.
I love the hydrangeas in the vase within a vase. The individual little flowers vases are really cute. I do think I may copy that idea for my next tablescape. I love it when I get inspired by another blogger. Thank you so much!!!
