Creations, Football Tree

I bought a little silver “Charlie Brown” like tree back in September with thoughts of maybe a Halloween tree~

One thing led to another and this little tree has been very busy!

First it was a Birthday Tree

Then a Halloween Tree

And now it’s a Football Tree!  Thanksgiving has been consuming my thoughts lately, but it is the height of football season also…

Time to show some Tide Pride!

We have our big rivalry game coming up 2 days after Thanksgiving so I want to be ready for that too~

Every year for the Iron Bowl we go all out and have a lavish spread of football food, a VIP guest list and lots of decorations.

Off came the orange dot Halloween ribbons

I changed to black ribbon and red and white pipe cleaners

Pipe cleaners are really handy for all kinds of crafts, they come in tons of colors too~I found the Alabama crepe paper ribbon at Wal Mart, they have a huge section of fan paraphernalia in our stores, more and more places seem to be catering to the tailgaters and fans everywhere…

We will enjoy this tree during these last few weeks of football

and it will happily decorate HH’s Mancave throughout the Christmas season, a perfect guy’s tree…

There are even a couple of red shiny gifts tucked under the branches of shiny footballs and ornaments

I found the sparkly elephants at World Market and was going to paint over the green, but decided to leave it as a little Christmas touch

Did you know that on game day around here the stores clear out and the streets are empty, because everyone is somewhere watching football!  It’s crazy!

  1. Lovin’ your team tree Jenna! Fun that it will live in the Man Cave for Christmas too-enjoy:@)

  2. Mary says:

I’ve enjoyed your tree transformations Jenna and love your team spirit! Good luck at the Iron Bowl, Roll Tide 🙂

  3. Loving all the different ideas for your little silver tree! Looking forward to seeing more.

  4. “Game Day” is the best time to go shopping — no crowds! I know it is practically unAmerican not to care about football, especially in ALabama and especially married to a rabid football addict, but that’s the way it is. I have noticed that when I am in HG and such during these times, the women who are also out and about are like me — almost giddy! Your tree is very cute, and I might do something like this for my husband. I still have my Daddy’s old “Bear Bryant” hat which must be at least 40 years old by now — was thinking of using it as a tree topper!

  5. We have a charlie brown tree that gets passed back in forth every year between the families. Once it has been gifted to you, next year you have to redecorate it and give it to someone else in the family next christmas. It is quiet a hoot. My husband would love for me to do this for him but in Notre Dame…yours is darling.

    • I love this idea. I need to find a small tree that I can change up for the seasons…and for football! I’m a BIG Dallas Cowboy fan and those colors would be so pretty on a tree! Great idea!

  6. This is so cute – I should make one for my daughter and son-in-law – big Hawkeye fans – they have a Hawkeye themed pool room where it would look awesome!
