I don’t know how long ago I wrapped these silver kleenex boxes,
Was it Christmas 2009, where the boxes dotted the centerpiece of frosted glass snowmen running down the table?
I can’t remember, but I know that I’ve had them a long time, and have used them tons of ways especially this year~
Last Christmas they were piled on the hearth
Mixed with some other shiny packages and ornaments
They decorated the Candy Store
A sweet little tablescape I created for my grandson
In January they starred in the Birthday Party centerpiece
Then they came back for an encore for Valentine’s Day
It is my son’s birthday, but gifts are traditional for Valentine’s Day so I think gift packages for decor is appropriate
May is a big birthday month around here too, so they made their way into the centerpiece again for a May Birthday Party
Tucked in the base of an over turned cake pedestal holding a birthday cake puzzle and surrounded by cupcakes
October brought another bout of birthday celebrations so they came out to sit with the Birthday Tree
at a special Surprise Birthday Party
And now here it is the holiday season again and I’m thinking I want to go a little more organic this year
So I’ve been playing around with some more packages
White paper and burlap ribbon, yep, my favorite white freezer paper~ paired with my new favorite burlap anything…
Now the next challenge is incorporating the new look with the old~
The painted burlap ribbon is stiffer than plain burlap ribbon and can be styled almost as well as wired ribbon!
I won’t regret time spent wrapping pretty packages, because I bet I will get lots of mileage out of these too!
Have you started thinking about Christmas decorating yet? I hope I’ve gotten you in the spirit!

Love your wrapped tissue boxes! I’ve done faux gift boxes before, but never thought of the tissue boxes…great size for so many decorative things. Love your new ones, too, with the white paper and burlap ribbon. I’m going to borrow your idea. Thanks for the inspiration
Great! thanks Babs!
Cute idea! And a fitting surprise for anyone snooping around the gifts:@)
haha! Never thought about snoopers!
Love your packages~ all of them. You have artfully and cleverly used them so differently no one would think they had seen them before. I like the idea of white freezer paper. Can you share your source? It’s probably everywhere but honestly I haven’t noticed it. I am always quickly grabbing the same thing! lol
Your brick on your fireplace jumped out at me. I think we have the same brick. If not it is very similar.
Wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving. Oh, I think it is wonderful your daughter is glad for your blog and refers to it often. You are right that is a great reason to blog.
Thanks Bonnie! Freezer paper is right by the aluminum foil, wax paper etc at the grocery store! I love the stuff, use it all the time. Especially for wrapping food for the freezer, imagine! Happy Thanksgiving Jenna
I’m a huge fan of burlap on ANYTHING! Love how many ways you’ve used these gift boxes. So versatile 🙂
I love the presents beside your fireplace. Pretty! I’d love if you’d link up to The DIY’ers. http://homecomingmn.blogspot.com/2013/11/the-diyers-39.html
Thanks Kayla, I will try to next week!
Love the white boxes with burlap….especially the way you scatter them around for different occasions…great idea for Holiday tables.
Thanks for sharing it!
I’ve been a big fan of the silver wrapped packages and their many great uses. But I also really love the white paper with burlap ribbon! Looking forward to see how everything gets incorporated for the Christmas decorating.

Jenna, I love the fresh, clean look of your white packages with the burlap bows! How fun you used freezer paper, I remember your adorable shower package. I must have been distracted by those adorable booties on top to pay attention 🙂
I haven’t started decorating yet, it’s cold and rainy today like it is in your neck of the woods, so it’s a good day to stay in, cook and then tackle boxes and get organized.
I’m loving those packages – the old and the new! I like all the ways you’ve used these, and I’m inspired to make some of my own. The polka-dot burlap ribbon is my favorite, but mixed with the Chevron print is even better! Great tip to use tissue boxes. 🙂
Thanks Kim, yes, I am loving the white painted burlap ribbon! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
I’m ALL about the fake packages, girlfriend! Sometimes you just have to go there! I keep shoe boxes, jewelry boxes…even RAISIN boxes to create those pretty little fake packages! 🙂 LOVE the burlap ribbon!!!! I have not seen any with the pretty painted design on it like this! Very pretty and rustic touch!
