I am sure you are up to your elbows in turkey and stuffing so I just wanted to share a quick dish you might want to make for a special holiday treat, mmmmm…Christmas or a New Year’s Brunch perhaps?

The best way to describe these pillowy soft rolls is clouds

They are like eating sweet orange flavored clouds!

You start with combining melted butter, sugar and orange zest into a topping for frozen roll dough

DSC_3019

Place the roll dough in a greased 9 x 13 baking dish, leaving plenty of space for them to expand, and top with a dollop of the orange zest mixture

Cover them with a cooking oil sprayed piece of saran and set them aside to rise

After about 4 hours you will have fat little puffs of dough that are ready for baking.  Don’t worry if some of the topping moves around, it doesn’t matter, the flavor is still there!

they kind of look like eggs!

After baking for 13-15 minutes they will be golden brown, and they smell swoonfully divine, all yeasty and orange and sugary….

Pour the glaze all over the hot rolls and let them sit for several minutes before cutting.

Be sure to serve these on a plate with a fork!

note: I read a ton of recipes for orange rolls and just combined several for this version.

I wish I had an orange in the house – I’d make some right now!! Wow, those look divine! These are now on my list of recipes to make. Thanks for sharing, and I hope y’all had a wonderful day! (I know it’s game time right now, but I had to escape the room for some peace and quiet.) 😉

Oh my…I need a couple for breakfast please! I love that you use frozen dinner rolls for these, easy and delicious! I have a monkey bread recipe that’s similar and too dangerous to break out more than once a year at Christmas that my nephews fight over 🙂
