Tablescapes, Snow Day
I must start by saying how sorry I am to all of you who have been affected by the recent massive snow storms and bad weather…
This is a good time to answer the question “How can you stand living in the South with all the humidity, heat, hurricanes, tornadoes?”…One of the first things that comes to mind is, “We have very mild winters….”
If it ever does snow, it is likely to happen in January. Our high tomorrow is 21, which is extreme for the deep South, but there’s no snow in the forecast.
I like to keep some of my snowy decorations from Christmas out for awhile…
In fact it is snowing in the dining room, right now!
We are actually having a Snow Day~
They have already delayed the start of schools for the next two days. Southerners don’t do cold!
We don’t have the clothes, the heaters, the snow plows or any of that stuff~
Maybe a steaming mug and a white chocolate covered pretzel log will help keep things warm and toasty!
Even my little Southern snowman is trying to stay out of the cold~
Paperwhites, although a holiday tradition, always remind me of Spring as they happily emerge from their bulbs
So try to hang in there, Spring will be back!

Cute table! I actually have snowmen that I don’t bring out until after Christmas, then how much snow we actually get determines how quickly they get put away:@) Enjoy your snow day!
In Saint Louis, we have the heat and humidity during Summer and the Springtime tornadoes plus we have snow, which it is doing right now, at the rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Supposed to continue until afternoon, then the temps will be below zero. These temps are a rarity for us, even though we experience snow every Winter.
I lived in Louisiana about three years. During that time there was the usual humidity and heat, but once in that three year time period, there was a dusting of snow. I remember school was cancelled that day.:-)

Hi Jenna, now I wish I hadn’t packed my snowflakes away. Love them on your chandelier. We are going to be extremely cold for a few days and you have the perfect table for it!
Hi Jenna, I love your snowy table with adorable snowman with his pail for a hat and high steppin’ & stylin’ Caribou 🙂 Your photos are beautiful and I love your layers with your pearl-edged organza placemats on the table and your chairs! I always wish for some snowflakes in January or February since it’s so fleeting. We’re getting rain instead today and tomorrow and then extreme cold temperatures for us, down to the single digits…brrrr!
Seeing your beautiful decorations makes me wish I had left my Snowmen and deer out. I love Snowmen and use them for Christmas decoration but took them down early this year. Now that it is so cold, it would be nice to have the Snowmen around.

Your snow table is beautiful! Our cold weather outside gets us in the mood to bring it inside on our table, doesn’t it? The moose in heels is so cute!! And, I’m drooling over those white plates, too. They are gorgeous! I hope you get to stay inside and warm these next two days. 🙂
Before I get to that sassy reindeer, I just have to say, “No…apparently Southerners DON’T do cold!” Schools are closed because it’s 21 degrees?!??!?!! Wow…just ….wow!!!! I guess it’s all a matter of perspective, though. The folks up in Minnesota are probably wondering why those of us in Missouri are freaking out about a mere -10 with wind chills of -30! 🙂 That’s still “warm” to them!
That reindeer is about the funniest, coolest, most diva thing ever!!! She reminds me of some of the decorative cow statues here and there around the greater KC area. Yes…cows! We’re in BEEF country here, sister!!! 🙂
Your design is beautiful, especially the chandelier treatment. I hope the real snow doesn’t make it your way. I know we’ve had more than our share here, and we’d gladly pass it along, but we don’t want to put you in a tizzy! Enjoy your week, and stay warm!!!

Snow pretty! :). It is 10 deg here and 50 mph winds, but school is open! They did delay an hour due to the ice. I am waiting for the weekend warm up to take the outside decos down!

Here in Ohio it is up to two degrees, the high so far today after a low of 13 degrees below zero last night. The snowflake chandelier is so pretty! I have to agree that your blinged out reindeer is super cool. I would buy one in a heartbeat.
Hey, Jenna! I’m a Southern gal, and love living in the South, even though it was 6 deg. on Tuesday night. It’s warming up and will be in the 60s this weekend. Pretty tablescape with all your snowy day things. After living in Montana for 8 years, that’s about all the snow I care to see. ::) Cute little reindeer, too.
