Tablescapes, Warming Up with Tex-Mex

After all the freezing weather I decided to warm things up around here with a little Tex-Mex table~

I raided the pantry for all things red, spicy and cowboy

and a pear?…well, it was the right color!  And cowboys love pears right?  Well, they should, anyway, everyone needs to eat more fruits and veggies!

I love to use fresh fruit and vegetables on my tables but sadly, today all I had was a pint of grape tomatoes, 2 heads of garlic and the pear

With “Add your own Tequila Margaritas”, things should heat up fast!

I used chalkboard tags for napkin rings

and the individual ceramic compotes are perfect for salsa, guacamole or queso

I used a painted wine bottle from the Fiesta party last summer,  hung with a cowboy hat ornament on the neck

Creating a centerpiece from the unexpected is cheap a great conversation starter!

I have a lot of “twos” of things, so if you look carefully you can see the mixing and matching going on.  The salad plates are all the same pattern, just 2 different shapes.

I love your “don’t double dip” chip plate! Cute table and I’m feeling a little warmer already:@)

You are on a roll! We had tamales and sangria last night which would have been perfect at your table. Ours was not quite so together!

  3. Rosie says:

What a fun, colorful table, (love your plates and centerpiece!! Your menu sounds yummy, too!! Have a great time! Rosie @ the Magic Hutch

  4. Dadgum it, girl…now I’m craving Mexican food! It’s 10 p.m., so there’s no way that can happen, so I’m going to blame it on you if I can’t sleep tonight! 🙂 I like the idea of the chunky guac. I think I’d like that a lot!

I just saw a Skinny Girl commercial while watching “The Golden Globes” on TV, and now I see it on your post. I guess I’ll have to give it a try. I’m trying hard to cut the carbs, cholesterol and calories (the dreaded Three C’s!!!), so rather than cutting out cocktails altogether, I think it would be worth a try.

Hope you had a good weekend! Take care, and watch your back…’cause if I lose one moment of sleep over that Mexican food, I’m comin’ after you!!! 🙂

Olé Jenna, what a fiesta! We had warmer temperatures yesterday but your menu and cute table with centerpiece definitely warms things up! The alternating plate shapes make for such a feliz setting too. It seems wrong to want a margarita for breakfast but the Skinny Girl Margarita recipe is just how I like mine, I’m not a fan of sour mix, just lime 🙂

  6. Everytime I go to see little man..his family is taking us to a new tex=mex restaurant…So it is starting to get to be a favorite of mine.

  7. Sarah says:

What a cute table, Jenna. Love the mix of “hot” Tex Mex products. This is a clever idea for a centerpiece.
