Party Panache, Popcorn Bar

This is an idea for an easy Super Bowl Bash but it’s also a party that would be great for any occasion and all ages~tailgating, birthday party, wedding,~ and guests will have a ball making their personal snack mix!

I went to Walmart and loaded up on toppings and goodies

Fill big bowls with popcorn.  There are so many flavors now!

You can buy pre-popped or pop your own!

There are so many handy seasonings to choose from too~

I used freezer paper on the kitchen island to set out the toppings

Sweet and salty, nuts, chocolate, crackers, cookies, something for everyone!

I just drew circles using a template [peanut can lid] and labeled the jar ingredients

I found lots of things in my own pantry too

Don’t forget the Parmesan cheese, which I personally think is good on anything!

Let guest fill bags part way with popcorn so they have plenty of room for goodies!

Plastic popcorn holders are fun to have also.  I got mine in the $1 bin at Target several years ago but I saw them at World Market and Walmart the other day.

You can use a brown bag to mix your concoction, pouring it back and forth

You can set up a popcorn bar in no time at all!

And yes, you will be a rock star!

Some notes:

An easy way to design your chalkboard art layouts is to do it on your computer, experimenting with different fonts and colors and moving words around until you find a composition you like.  Print it out and use it for a guide as you letter.Chalk ink is so easy to work with because it doesn’t smear.  To see more chalkboard art click here and here

I used Ball jars for the toppings: bacon bits,  penguin shaped cheese crackers, potato sticks, swiss Cheez-its, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, peanuts, chocolate chips, caramel bits, mini chocolate chip cookies, vanilla cupcake goldfish, and Parmesan cheese.

Kids and adults would think a popcorn bar great fun! You are getting quite good with your new chalkboard pens.

Love the popcorn bar Jenna! I could eat popcorn for dinner and do when my hubby is out of town. Your jar ideas with the labeled toppings are so clever on the freezer paper! I love your artistic lettering on your chalkboard too. My markers arrived, it’s been to cold to go out to my metal roofed shed to experiment on the door yet, but I’m looking forward to playing with the markers.

  4. I am totally SOLD! I absolutely love popcorn. The idea of a popcorn bar is so awesome!!

  5. What a terrific labeling idea for the toppings!!! Pinning it!!! Your chalkboard is terrific, too! You have really nice handwriting!!!

Shoot….now I want some popcorn. I guess I’ll mosey on downstairs and pop some. I make it the old-fashioned way on top of the stove. I have a favorite pot that I use. It’s getting really old, and the screw in the handle is rusted which makes the handle really shaky. I wouldn’t trade that pot for the world, though. I’m a big popcorn lover!!!

Great idea for the Super Bowl or ANY party, Jenna! Thanks!

  6. I definitely want to do a popcorn bar at some point, despite the fact that I like my popcorn plain except for butter! I like how you displayed your toppings too.

The artist in you amazes me! Your chalkboard art is beautiful!! All the popcorn toppings look fun and festive – love the paper idea, too! I hope y’all had a fun Superbowl party. 🙂
