Happy Valentine’s Day! Bacon Salt

I know, right~ I mean really, Bacon Salt???
When I saw this recipe, it fit right in with the “bacon/man-food” type theme I had going on for my son’s Valentine birthday, so I had to make some
You can whip up a batch today in a matter of minutes if you need a last minute man pleaser!
Throw some bacon on a sheet of parchment on a baking sheet and put it in the oven for about 25 minutes at 350~
go sing in the shower or something and when you come back it’s just a matter of a few pulses in the food processor
pulse
pulse
add coarse sea salt
pulse
put into a jar
decorate
and make someone happy!
Sprinkle it on eggs, potatoes, vegetables, anything that you would normally salt and enjoy a bacon flavor with it
Here’s the dealio~

BACON SALT
Ingredients
- 6-8 slices Maple Bacon
- 1/2 cup coarse sea salt
Instructions
- Cook bacon until uniformly crisp. The best method for this is on a parchment lined baking sheet in a 325-350 oven. Cooking time will vary so check often near the end. Drain well and discard any part that is underdone or burnt. Pulse in food processor until bacon is small crumbs. Add salt. Pulse a few times to mix. Store in a jar in refrigerator. Date jar, and use within 1 month. Makes about 3/4 cup.
Now if you really want to rock someone’s world, make some Bacon Jam to go along with it!
Happy Valentine’s Day!

Yum, Yum, and Double Yum! Happy Valentine’s Day!!! 🙂
Oh my goodness Jenna, this makes my knees weak! Forget the men, girls love bacon too and this is getting printed out and made. Sounds like a good staple to always have on hand for pleasing everyone. I know my husband will love it too………..
Have a SWEET day…………
Thanks Emily, it’s pretty divine on scrambled eggs! Happy V day!

I happened upon your blog via Chris at The Cafe Sucre Farine and I’m so glad I did! What a great Valentine gift for a guy. And I can think of a million savory uses for this. But I have to tell you, what I’m really thinking about is how to incorporate it into my sweet baking! Thanks for sharing such a fabulous idea!
Thanks Anne! Using bacon salt in your sweets is an awesome idea! Make sure you pulse it down a bit because the coarse sea salt is so much larger than Kosher salt and it’s very salty~or just use Kosher salt.
what a great idea — my sons would love this!!
I saw this in Food Network Mag this month, it caught my eye right away! Sounds like fun-Happy Valentine’s Day:@)
oh my stars you had me at bacon. It needs to be kept refrigerated, right? How long will it keep in the fridge. 2-3 days? Thank you for helping to make the Thursday Favorite Things Blog hop so much fun. Big Hugs ♥
hi Katherine, yes, store in the refrigerator, it will keep about a month~
Love this idea! I know some people that will be very happy to hear about this! Pinning! Thanks for sharing on The Four Seasons Blog Hop! Sandra from Scrumptilicious 4 You!
