Here’s the dealio~

BACON SALT

Prep Time 35 minutes
Course condiment
Cuisine American

Ingredients

  • 6-8 slices Maple Bacon
  • 1/2 cup coarse sea salt

Instructions

  • Cook bacon until uniformly crisp. The best method for this is on a parchment lined baking sheet in a 325-350 oven. Cooking time will vary so check often near the end. Drain well and discard any part that is underdone or burnt. Pulse in food processor until bacon is small crumbs. Add salt. Pulse a few times to mix. Store in a jar in refrigerator. Date jar, and use within 1 month. Makes about 3/4 cup.

  5. I happened upon your blog via Chris at The Cafe Sucre Farine and I’m so glad I did! What a great Valentine gift for a guy. And I can think of a million savory uses for this. But I have to tell you, what I’m really thinking about is how to incorporate it into my sweet baking! Thanks for sharing such a fabulous idea!

    • Thanks Anne! Using bacon salt in your sweets is an awesome idea! Make sure you pulse it down a bit because the coarse sea salt is so much larger than Kosher salt and it’s very salty~or just use Kosher salt.
