Tablescapes, Green Goddess Salad Bar with Wacky Weeds

We were having Chef’s salad for dinner and I am pretty sure some clever chef somewhere, long ago, came up with this title because it sounds a lot better then “Clean Out the Refrigerator Salad,”  which is what it basically is!

To jazz things up a bit, I decided to set it up salad bar style, and let everyone make their own.

A little of this and a little of that looks pretty inviting when it’s given a little style.  I used the boxes from Crates full of Spring to add different heights and interest

We are all thinking Spring of course and Green, and what says Easter better than some fat orange carrots?

Home made dressing makes it look like you went to some effort  is a nice touch, especially if you can make it early in the day to give the flavors a chance to blend

Cheesy, crunchy, seasoned puff pastry sticks take no time at all and add a tasty special treat to a salad of leftovers

This is just another way to play “dress-up”

Salad never looked so good Jenna, especially when offered from a Courtly Check Compote! So festive and delicious to offer it buffet style. Cheesy puff pastry bread sticks make it a meal and would keep me from feeling deprived with only greens on my plate! Love the napkins and flatware presented in your cute crate! I have the same PB green pedestal in my kitchen 🙂

  2. Marigene says:

Oh, everything looks like I could just reach into the screen and pick it up…yummy! Beautiful presentation, Jenna. Love the salad bowl!

  3. Tricia says:

Wow, this gorgeous salad buffet would entice even picky eaters to go for a salad! The bread sticks look wonderful to me — the perfect bite along with the salad.

  4. WOW! What a great idea and fun too! Thanks for sharing! I would love to come to dinner for your special salad buffet. It looks so inviting!

Oh my goodness, Jenna …this is all just delightfully delicious looking! Yummo! I adore it when someone else does all the prep work so I can just combine things that I want in my salad. So fun!

This would be a PERFECT set up for my tennis group’s end-of-the-year luncheon. Those cheesy, crunchy, seasoned puff pastry sticks make me want to reach out & grab one right this minute.
Thanks for showing us how you set this all up, with the various levels & such cute labels for the dressing, too. Very stylish!!

  8. You certainly took the hum-drum out of making a salad.. Everything looks so fresh and pretty

  9. What a great salad bar….You made it look so elegant and yummy!

  10. Now you KNOW you are going to get a lot of crazy stoners showing up on your page just because of the title!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 Oh, well…they’ll have the munchies, so this is probably a good place to land so they can figure out what to eat! 🙂

I like the idea of putting the salad fixings out like this. Very pretty, and everyone can pick and choose to their own liking. Great idea for taking stress out of it!

That compote with the lettuce in it is magnificent!!!

Oh this, makes me so, so glad I’ve decided to made a big-ole-salad for dinner tonight as I’m drooling over yours. Of course, mine won’t be near as awesomely displayed. . .dang.
