Tablescapes, Dining with the Fishes

It is finally warm enough to eat outside, and this table gets a work out in the summer months

DSC_0002

It is everyone’s favorite place to sit, and sometimes we cram 7 or 8 around this little table for 4

To celebrate the start of the season, I dedicated this table to FISH

DSC_0004

The guys in my family are obsessed with the creatures

DSC_0007

Maybe by honoring them at a special “kick off the season” table

They will catch a lot of the elusive swimmers!

I try not to get “crabby” when all they talk about is fishing…

A glass of wine usually helps me get through the endless conversations…

Please please oh King of the Deep, let there be fish this summer!

DSC_0015

I really don’t even like fish, just shrimp scallops and lobster

DSC_0014

But I love to decorate with them!

and they are fun to paint!

I have honored fish on our front door

I bet the fish will be jumping into the boat this summer!

I better paint a Red Snapper, the guys favorite!

Thanks for going fishing with me today!

Jenna, I am beyond ready to dine with the fishes… love the plate stack you reeled in for your table, including your fun wire wrapped flatware! The sunglasses on your kissing fish cracks me up 🙂 How FUN you painted a fish on your front door too! My hubby just got back from his annual spring fishing trip at the Outer Banks.

Hi Jenna – thanks for the big smiles this morning. Love the sunglasses – too cute! POURING down rain here the last few days. Send some of that sunshine our way! Happy day and big hugs, Holly

  3. Dig that cool cat, uh fish, in the shades! I went back and reviewed that tutorial for the forks. I have always thought that was the cleverest thing ever.

Cute table…anything blue catches my eye. I ♥ that crab server and those fish plates are so cheerful on a dreary day.
    Have a great week, Jenna.

  5. I served tilapia last night for supper….oh what I wouldn’t of done to have served it on this adorable tablescape…so fun my friend.

  6. Love, love your tablescape (and amazing view). Looks so inviting and festive:) Have a great week.

Love your table with its colors and textures!! You have definitely set the mood for a happy summer of sunshine and fishing!! Rosie @ The Magic Hutch

  8. Love the shades on your fish! Gorgeous tablescape.

  9. The blue and white and wicker are such a great seaside combination. What a beautiful view!!

Oh, how cute!!! I love all of your adorable fish and the way in which you presented them. Your porch is wonderful – all we have at our beach place is a balcony, but it is fairly large. The sunglasses on your fish made me laugh – I guess, we all should protect our eyes from the summer sun!

  11. I’m with you, Jenna. There’s not a lot of fish that I actually like. Maybe if we didn’t live smack dab in the middle of the country I’d be more inclined to try and like fish other than the catfish we find in the stocked lakes here. I love shrimp, lobster, crab and salmon, but that’s about the extent of it!

You don’t have to like to eat fish to like your creative way with them! The table is a fun way to pay homage to the scaly critters. The fish on the front door is just irresistible, too. With a view like you have to enjoy, I’d cram 50 around the table if need be!!! What a neat way to spend the warm summer months!!!

    Enjoy the week ahead!

Such a cute table. I love your view as well. My goal is to have beach house one day, so I can eat outside with the water views. We live in the country so we have great landscape view.

Oh, your table is just divine and the view even better. I especially like that fishie with the sunglasses on and the little boat he’s sitting in. We missed you today at the blogger meet-up. I do hope y’all didn’t get any damage from the storms last week and can continue to enjoy that wonderful view. It’s lovely!

Hi Jenna, Oh me you’re talking my language…Alabama, that is! My husband and I love Orange Beach, too! It is absolutely gorgeous and a well kept secret, that many would never believe is so wonderful. Your tablescape is fabulous with all the beach theme and your beach blues. Thanks for sharing it with us.

  15. Such a beautiful table!
