Tablescapes, Washed Ashore

A perfect day starts with a walk on the beach

and ends with dinner by candlelight~

It is easy to create this Washed Ashore centerpiece…use a shallow basket, bowl or tray as a base and fill it full of anything that might have washed ashore.  I used a ceramic boat planter, a metal boat wine bottle holder and a large decorative shell bowl.  There is a starfish dish in the boat, some old bottles scattered about, shells of all shapes and sizes.  Driftwood, some netting and sea glass fill in the gaps.  I chose to use only white and aqua to keep the tone serene.  As night fell I added small battery operated flicker candles tucked here and there~

I am so lucky to have a house by the sea, but you can create the seashore wherever you are~

sources:

shells/ We don’t have many big shells wash ashore on our gulf coast beaches, that’s why we have such pretty white sand, the shells have been bleached and dried and crushed over their travels to arrive here~  Craft stores are the most economical places to buy shells and seaglass, check Walmart, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Christmas Tree Shop or load up on your next trip to the beach at the souvenir shops or collect them yourself~
