Halloween is bursting out all over, everywhere~
There’s even a witch at the door!
Big E [2 1/2] said “that’s funny Gigi!” HH [blind husband] hasn’t even noticed this yet 😎
Pinterest, the ultimate treasure trove, provided photos for reference as I was “building” my witch
I tried to source these but one blog has been removed , one had the wrong URL and the other is from Etsy but it’s not there because the item is no longer available. These door decorations are all super clever so thank you to the creators!
Cut down a black trash bag to use for the torso
Insert broom handle through to the top, and tape it securely. Add a wire for hanging
Stuff the black bag with plastic bags, with the broom handle on the bottom and the stuffing on the top and sides. This will keep the broom side flat for hanging on the door or wall
Tape it securely closed, and tape it to the broom stick so it doesn’t move. Tie a piece of string or twine around the middle to make her waist
Tape the legs to the bottom of torso on each side of the broom
I used package sealing tape which is super sticky and it worked like a charm
Tie a piece of black netting or fabric around the torso at the waist. I used some yardage that I had and just wrapped it around the bag a few times for volume, with most of the material on the top side
A gathered handful of shiny striped mesh slips under the bow for her skirt
She is going to be quite the prissy little witch!
Green moss makes some great frizzy hair
Taped under the hat brim
The mesh and netting will help grab this and keep it in place once she’s all together

This Fearless Flyer is scared to go outside for long
She’s doesn’t want her hair to get frizzier in the humidity!
For more weather proof hair, try strips cut from plastic bags, ribbons, wire, or a wig from the costume store
We are enjoying her inside until Halloween, then she’ll go outside, to greet the trick or treaters!
The broom handle has a wire that hangs on a command strip hook that can easily be removed without damage
I attached the hat to the hook with a small wire, threaded through the hat, under the front brim where you can’t see it
I found mesh roll at Old Time Pottery for $4 this summer
I got the witch hats [$2] and broom [$3] at Target
The legs are made with candy corn socks filled with pillow stuffing. You can see more about Crazy for Candy Corn here

How cute is your witch, and I love the centerpiece on the table. That has to be good for lots of chuckles. You are so good with projects. I’ve gotten a little lazy when it comes to making things other than something to eat!
You really do it up for H’We’en! Witchy-poo is too cute for words. I suppose I will try to locate my little paper one and tape her back together one more time. I did locate the box in the attic (I think).

Oh, Jenna, I literally laughed out loud when I saw your first picture!! It looks just like a witch flew smack into your door and is looking through the peep hole to see who’s inside! You have outdone yourself here. Your treat-o’-treaters and other visitors are in for a special treat when they approach your door. Absolutely darling! Thank you for your tutorial, also. You are a hoot! Jenna. Your witch is so creative and I think you could sell many of these. You are having fun decorating I can tell. Funny that your husband has not noticed. Where do you store all your creations??!!
ha! Thanks Bonnie! As for storage, I have a big garage full of plastic storage bins and a wall where I hand wreaths etc. …it needs to be reorganized, hopefully now that it is finally cooler I will get to that task, and if I ever get it pretty enough I will share 🙂

Yeah, my husband still hasn’t noticed that I painted a big blue wave and polka dots on our washer and dryer…4 months ago!
So cute, but what really caught my attention was the photo of your witch hanging on the inside of the door. So many of my wreaths are things that should not be out in weather. what a perfect way to feature my wreaths, AND, add some decor to the inside of the house. I will be using this with my own Halloween wreath.
I have really enjoyed her inside! My front door is not protected so I hate to hang anything that isn’t super sturdy out there! I think I will hang something cute for Christmas on the inside too, I can’t believe I’ve never done this before! Thanks Chloe!
