One of the reasons I fell in love with this Villa Della Luna dinnerware was I knew it could be versatile, despite the bright pattern
I bought 4 dinner plates, bowls and latte mugs and 4 Napoli chargers to complement them
Then Pflatzgraff asked me to do a promotion and they sent me 4 more full place settings, including the salad plates, butter/dessert plates and coffee mugs
I wanted to set an autumn/Thanksgiving table for 8, but the challenge was how to make it look like I had a full set of this pattern. I did have 8 dinner plates and bowls, and I used the same silver flatware, goblets, and coasters for each setting
4 places are set with a round orange rattan charger atop a pinky orange ruffled mat, and a latte cup
The other 4 places are set with a Napoli charger atop a square rattan brown charger and a coffee mug
4 cream napkins with pumpkin rings, and 4 green napkins with silver rings, alternate at every other place
The butter/dessert plates and the salad plates are used on the tiered server
The centerpiece runs down the length of the table, signifying the abundance from the harvest
Seasonal elements, including a rustic turkey, real and faux pumpkins are interspersed with candles, pomegranates, and potpourri
Note: the potpourri and the candles are unscented, so they don’t interfere the the aromas of the food
The blue patterned bowls filled with wine corks and orange pumpkins visually unify the tableau
The eye sees a continuity down the table with evenly spaced bowls and bands of blue
The hue of the ruffled mats blends with the terra cotta of the dinnerware and helps tie in to the fabric covered Parsons chairs
The fourth salad plate and dessert plate make a handy wine coaster
During the holidays especially, it is hard to have enough matching pieces for large groups
If you have enough foundation pieces, it is amazing the results you can achieve
