painting Santa

I promise I am not trying to rush Christmas…

I prefer summertime myself, but temperatures are finally dropping here, reminding me that

Christmas is coming, Ho Ho Ho, so let’s paint some Santas!

Last year I showed you how to paint a knock off Vietri Santa ornament here

My JMdesigns Santa is easy to paint too~

1. paint 2 pink “eggs” side by side

2.  paint a red swash above the pink eggs leaving a space

3. paint another red swash from the bottom right, making the top half an O and stop.  Paint a connecting swash from the left bottom up and joining the top of the O

4.  Fill Santa’s cap in with more red

5. Paint 5 large white dots, next to each other, in a shallow curve, under the cheeks

6.  Add a row of 4 dots underneath and then 3 dots below that.  Add a dot on each side of the cheeks and one for  a pom-pom on his cap

7.  Next add a row of dots across the bottom of his hat, for the furry trim

8.  Add a small dot for his red nose, and a couple of quick brush strokes across his cheeks for his mustache

Now, you’ve painted a gift bag!  Go have a cup of coffee and relax, you’ve got the holidays covered!

A few polka dots are a nice addition

and perhaps some sprigs of holly~

Ho Ho Ho!

Be sure to use paint made for glass painting if you want to paint on dishware or anything that will be washed.
