Creations, Painting Santas

I promise I am not trying to rush Christmas…

I prefer summertime myself, but temperatures are finally dropping here, reminding me that

Christmas is coming, Ho Ho Ho, so let’s paint some Santas!

Last year I showed you how to paint a knock off Vietri Santa ornament here

My JMdesigns Santa is easy to paint too~

DSC_0038

1. paint 2 pink “eggs” side by side

2.  paint a red swash above the pink eggs leaving a space

3. paint another red swash from the bottom right, making the top half an O and stop.  Paint a connecting swash from the left bottom up and joining the top of the O

4.  Fill Santa’s cap in with more red

5. Paint 5 large white dots, next to each other, in a shallow curve, under the cheeks

6.  Add a row of 4 dots underneath and then 3 dots below that.  Add a dot on each side of the cheeks and one for  a pom-pom on his cap

7.  Next add a row of dots across the bottom of his hat, for the furry trim

8.  Add a small dot for his red nose, and a couple of quick brush strokes across his cheeks for his mustache

Now, you’ve painted a gift bag!  Go have a cup of coffee and relax, you’ve got the holidays covered!

A few polka dots are a nice addition

Ho Ho Ho!

Be sure to use paint made for glass painting if you want to paint on dishware or anything that will be washed.

  8. So cute! My name is Katie and I host Fall Into the Holidays, now open. All entries get pinned. I would love to have you link up!

  9. What a great tutorial! I think even I could do that!!

  10. Kitty says:

What a fun project, Jenna! I’m guessing that you have to hand wash the glass items, even with the special paint? The Santa is simply adorable!!

    • The paint I use requires baking to set after painting. Then the glasses are dishwasher safe. We drink out of my painted glassware everyday and the glasses go in the dishwasher. If you don’t want to paint them yourself, you can see a sampling of my work on my other website, JMdesignsgallery.com. I have been painting and selling glassware to gift shops for years. Thanks Kitty!
