Tablescapes, Early Thanksgiving & Turkey Napkin Fold
We had a little early Thanksgiving for 2
Just a casual meal set at the bar counter
Thanksgiving text placemats from Pier 1 several years ago
and I couldn’t resist these 2 salad plates at Marshall’s
A matching napkin lines the cornucopia for the rolls
A Thanksgiving butter dish
Our “centerpiece” is the view of the bar shelves full of Thanksgiving glassware
and Thanksgiving vignettes
Our chairs are covered with Painted Turkey Aprons that Super Boy made last year and a Burlap Turkey Bottle Topper sits on a wine bottle
The “turkey” napkins were a happy accident
They turned out so cute, that I thought you might like to try this too
You could use any cylindrical napkin ring and 2 different colored napkins
1. Fold bottom napkin in half horizontally into a rectangle. Lay second napkin out flat and grab it in the center, forming a loose cone shape. Lay the cone on top of the rectangle.
2. Fold in sides of bottom napkin and loosely fold over the cone shaped napkin
3. Roll the tip of the napkins over 2 times
4. Turn napkins over
5. hold napkins near the bottom
6. Insert into the napkin ring. The fabric should be tight enough to stay inside the ring securely, do not pull it all the way through. You might have to make adjustments here depending on the thickness of the fabric
7. Fluff the napkins into “feathers,” by folding upwards, spreading slightly and pulling up points of cloth
I used 2 cotton napkins that are soft, but have some body so they held their shape
I have had these turkey napkin rings for years, but you could easily use a plain ring for a similar effect
and add a pipe cleaner!
Make a simple loop for the turkey head and bend it in just slightly under the “chin.” Then bend the ends at a 90 degree angle and stick them through the napkin ring under the napkins. [the clothespin was just holding it in place so I could take the photo]
You can also use a mini pumpkin or pine cone to help support the “feathers” from the rear

Jenna, Your turkey fantail napkins are too cute! I would love to have a set of the wire toms but the pipe cleaner version is so clever and an adorable substitution! That is some centerpiece! That was a lot of work putting together, I’m sure, but it’s very eye-catching and worth it! Your place settings are so pretty with those beautiful plates. I like how you repeated the words again with the place mats. I love your turkey napkin fold, too! Fun aprons covering the chairs is the cherry on top.
Oh, m’gosh, they look so cute in their little aprons! That would be a really fun way to keep kids occupied while you’re trying your best to get dinner ready!

Cute, cute turkey napkins, Jenna. I am always looking for new EASY napkin folds! Love all your fall decorations…it is sad that fall is over and everything will be Christmas for a few weeks…I don’t count anything Christmasy before this holiday has been had.
