Holidays, It’s a Cotton Christmas!
It has turned out to be a Cotton Christmas!
I’ve been frantically fa la la-ing, and we still have the tree to do, but the halls in the family room are decked out with the Sweet Home Alabama Tree, and Frosty’s up to some mischief nearby
Somehow my gold and silver world of angels has exploded into a world of cotton and red, white and Santa stuff~
The Burlap Angels are still singing
They are on the sofa table and in the secretary
Now they have some snowy red ornaments tucked around
and their curly gold and silver wings have been added to the mantel garland and the Sweet Home Alabama Tree to tie everything together
I had one more cotton garland so I mixed it with an evergreen garland on the mantel and added some white lights, pine cones and some red and white, along with some extra tags from the tree
Sometimes one little touch can just tie everything together, like this little Santa belt pillow
It’s handy to decorate with faux packages, especially if you haven’t wrapped anything yet ^^’
As for Frosty, he’s been too busy to lounge in a bath full of bubbles, so he decided to take a shower!
It doesn’t hurt to post a sign for insurance, you know, so curious little hands don’t start touching
Frosty prefers ccccccccold water…
Let me show you what’s underneath
I used a clear plastic bin for the base and topped it with a garden trellis. I stood the trellis inside a white plastic garbage bag and added packing for volume and shape. The trellis then poked through the bottom of bag #2 and more packing was added and then the bag was tied off at the top
Since Frosty is “wet” from the shower, his normally fluffy cotton self is a little “matted” [I used some furry cloth left over from my recent pillow project Winter Knockoffs]
I filled the tub with cotton batting and added some silver sparkle garland for the shower “water”
Frosty seems to be enjoying it!
He has carefully hung his scarf and gloves while he gets refreshed
He just loves to surprise visitors!

So fun Jenna, I’m sure the kids will be thrilled to see that Frosty has graduated to showering from bathing last year 🙂 Love his scarf and mittens hanging decoratively on your towel rod! Too cute!
Jenna, Is that real cotton? If so, tell me where you get it and how you make sure it’s not buggy.
No, it’s just a realistic faux cotton garland. It’s pricey, but I found some on super clearance after Christmas and was so excited I bought 3 strands~ so no bug problems. I got mine from Grandin Road and I know they have it at Brookstone.com. You can google faux cotton garland and find more sources.

Your cotton garland and tree are gorgeous! The cotton bolls are so full and pretty, as are the entire arrangements. Your snowman is so fun, and the bubbles and water, too. Love the silver twine used to denote water flowing. You are so creative! I’m sure your grand-kids look forward to visiting “the fun house” during all the special days throughout the year. You win the fun grandma award!

The funny part is how low key the men are about Frosty in the bathroom…last year they were pretty shocked, but this year all my husband said was, it’s kinda scary going in there 🙂 and my son said nothing at all! They try to be sooo cool, ha! The little ones love it though!
