Did you see these fabulous holiday gift cards from Anthropologie?
A little paint in the shape of a tree, a twig glided with gold and wrapped with thin green cording
So brilliantly simple, and I couldn’t wait to try something like this
Let me show you some simple designs you can whip up yourself to use for your sweetheart <3
If you aren’t comfortable drawing hearts freehand, use a cookie cutter or other heart shape for a template
I like to use 2 colors for simple shapes because it gives them depth and interest
A little pink and a little red and some quick short brush strokes with a fairly dry brush
You can go back and erase the pencil line after the paint dries
Another version is to paint the outer edges with 2 quick brush strokes
and then you can finish the ends by adding an X, you know for a little kiss 😘
A heart shape upside down is a spade
So you can do them upside down if that’s easier
Once you have the basic shape, turn it right side up and check the symmetry
Adjust the shape as you fill it in
They don’t have to be perfect
I used gold and silver leafing pens to add some extra touches
and a simple leaf stem forms the arrow
The leaf stem is painted silver and I added a silver tip and silver feathers
Paint your hearts on white card stock and leave some space for a message
You can always print your message with your computer and then paint the heart
These hearts would make great cards for wedding gifts, friendship and thank you gifts too~
And Birthdays! Today is my SIL’s birthday, NG [Nicest Guy], and he is a real sweetheart!
Thanks for painting with me today!
