Congratulations to Pamela!  I will be contacting you by email to get your address!

Ok, so if your sweet little heart is broken because you didn’t win, I am going to show you how to make a new one!

Valentine cork heart thepaintedapron.com

This Valentine heart had a humble beginning as a pile of wine corks

DSC_0001

That came together into a heart shape with the help of a little E6000

DSC_0002

Lay it out first [see Juicy Details below] before you start gluing and make sure you don’t accidentally glue it to the table where you’re working 😱

Then you can add a little paint

Hmmmmm….some of the corks look pretty rough~

I wish I had thought to turn them all over,  showing their smoothest ends…

Nothing that a little bling can’t fix!

Save those corks! 💗

Coming soon, I’m going to show you how to “fancy up” the wine bottles all those corks came from 😘

Juicy Details

You can see more painted glassware and ordering information over on my Gallery here

Make the heart by starting at the top and making 2 rows of 2, then below the top row, a row of 3 corks each, then 4 and 4 corks joined together

Continue with 1 row now, decreasing cork number until the last one, where I used a metal capped cork from a bottle of Mer Soleil Silver.  I used E6000, but a glue gun would be easier

I save old jewelry and bits and pieces, beads and bobbles, just for spur of the moment crafts like this

glass beads in vase thepaintedapron.com

The flat sided glass beads, are called vase fillers in craft stores, and they come in handy for all kinds of things, like making chargers on Moroccan Fantasy here

Good morning Jenna! Love the idea of the heart and use of cork. I never throw away cork, save just for projects like this one!❤ good job on your glass art! Have a good day!

I love those glasses. Congratulations to the winners. You are so generous.

  3. Cute cork heart and great idea! Last night I was watching The Mysteries of Laura, and the main character had been put in charge of a booth at the Winter Carnival at her twin’s school. She was crafting her brains out to meet her two-day deadline (while solving a murder of course), and she came through in the end even though her showman wouldn’t stay together. But what caught my eye was her version of ring-toss — painted wine bottles!!!
