Tablescapes, Bourbon Street!

If you are lucky enough to live on or visit the Gulf Coast in January and February you will find Mardi Gras in full swing and the “Good Times Rolling”

The street lamps are festive and the stores are full of anything you might need,

an umbrella, a jester

a wig or a hat

You can’t help but come down with a raging case of Mardi Gras fever, and a longing to be on Bourbon Street

Come on, the fun’s just about to begin!

An iconic image of New Orleans is the Bourbon Street sign, Rue Bourbon

I made my own version of a street lamp on Rue Bourbon

Mardi Gras is all about excess, and over the top, crazy fun, so the centerpiece is spilling out

all over the table

Gold for power, green for faith and purple for justice

Revelers wear masks so they can party freely and without a care

No one will know their true identity!

A tree decorated for Mardi Gras is adorned with ribbon, masks, and cocktail ornaments

A painted Crown Royal whiskey bottle joins beads, coins and crowns

A jester’s hat is at the base of the street lamp and an overturned green crystal trifle bowl holds a fat gold dotted candle

Piles of bright beads

Chairs dressed up for a party

In the far corner, over by the stairs

is another vignette

This mask is a new treasure this year,  just in case I get invited to a ball, I can be a reveler 🙂

The alligator head beads were thrown to Super Boy last year

The tree has tiny lights to make the evening glow
