There are 2 layers, a thick batter made with cake mix, and a cheesecake topping

PicMonkey Collage

Starting from upper left, going clockwise, mix the cake mix with 1 egg, 1 stick melted butter and 1 T water.  Then make the topping by beating the cream cheese, sugar, 1 egg and vanilla.  Spread the thick cake mix batter in a greased 9″ x 13″ pan

Drop the cheesecake topping on in spoonfuls and bake for 10 minutes.  Remove from oven and swirl topping and cake layers with the tip of a sharp knife, lower right.  Return to oven until just set, about 20 minutes.  Do not over bake or brownies will be dry

Be Still My Red Velvet Heart! Your Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies look oh so tempting Jenna and one for breakfast for Valentine’s Day would be a perfect and sweet start the for the weekend! We were able to get outdoors last weekend too like your Valentine crafters but the temperatures have taken a nose dive today….Brrrrr! Hope you’re warm and cozy this weekend. ♥

  2. Oh Jenna those brownies look so so good! Love the idea of using the red velvet cake and that topping baked in has to be soooo good! How lucky you are to be able to go outside and enjoy some time with the grandkids! We’re going through a real temperature freeze here and only expect a high of 1 on Valentine’s Day! Outdoor activity will be limited- although I believe we’ll be heading out for a dinner. Your roses are beautiful and I love the fancy center arrangement on the table and that plate with the bow!
