Creations, Painted Name Plaque

Since Baby Boy is getting all the attention right now, CC suggested a little photo shoot

Come on in

Her fancy kitchen is close by in case she gets the urge to cook

There are lots of soft puffy pillows for lounging and reading

You might remember her Chalk Painted Dresser

She has a new name plaque she got for her birthday

Her Aunt commissioned me to paint this to match her room

I used the same Old White and French Linen Annie Sloan chalk paint that we used on the dresser and trimmed it out with a tiny pale pink stripe,  a silver leaf outline and white pin dots

I always do some sketches first, referring to fonts that I like.  After painting the plaque with 2 coats of Old White, I drew the letters with a very light, non-smearing [archival] pencil

Letters are carefully filled in with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, French Linen

Q-tips are an artist’s best friend…dip the cotton tip in water, blot and then use to remove paint excess, splatters or mistakes

The edge is painted a very pale pink, the letters are outlined with a silver leaf paint pen, then small white dots added in the background

It’s really hard to see the details

My daughter is a designer too and she is super picky…she doesn’t like a lot of bright colors and crazy pattern mixes…I know, how can she be my daughter  😱

She really has very good taste and her gray and white house is gorgeous

CC says “I love my new big girl room!”

But Mommie says I have to sleep in my crib just a little bit longer

You know, just to show Baby Boy how it’s done~

Thanks for dropping by!

Pssst….this Charlotte is a Royal Princess as far as we’re concerned!
