Take-out Tuesday, Slow Cooker Island Chicken Wings

I’ve been on Island Time lately…

Island Time: [def]  a time vacuum created by the ocean’s presence, and everything moves slow and easy

This recipe is so simple and easy, it will bring some Island Time into your life

All you need is a slow cooker, chicken wings and some flavor from the pantry or fridge

Put the chicken wings in the slow cooker and season with salt and pepper

Drizzle Teriyaki sauce liberally all over the chicken, top with marmalade and BBQ sauce

Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours, adding more sauce to keep chicken covered if necessary

And there you go, and you didn’t even break a sweat 🙂

SLOW COOKER ISLAND TIME CHICKEN WINGS

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 6 hours
Course Main Course
Cuisine American, Southern
Servings 6

Equipment

  • slow cooker

Ingredients
  

  • 6 large chicken wings**
  • 1/2 cup Teriyaki sauce
  • 1/2 cup Orange Marmalade
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • salt and pepper

Instructions
 

  • Spray or line a slow cooker. Add chicken and season with salt and pepper.
  • Drizzle with Teriyaki sauce, top with marmalade and BBQ sauce.
  • Cover and cook on low 6-7 hours*, adding more BBQ sauce if necessary to keep chicken covered. Serves 2-3

*or cook on high 3-4 hours

  6. My mouth is watering looking at these pictures and reading this delicious sounding recipe. As much as I love to cook, there are days when i just want to take the day off and toss something into the crockpot. It never once occurred to me to make wings this way. Yummy!
