Alabama vs Ole Miss

We will have a house full of Alabama & Ole Miss fans, friends, and alumni…

These fans are much bigger this year!  And we have a new addition, he’s going to need an outfit

One of my favorite dips is this Pigskin Tailgate Dip, it’s full of ham AND bacon!   🐷

and you can’t go wrong with Hissy Fit dip… full of sausage and cheese

hissy fit dip thepaintedapron.com

Legend has it that Hissy Fit Dip was supposedly named after a spoiled Southern belle who was so busy socializing that by the time she got to the appetizer table the dip was all gone, and in true spoiled Southern belle fashion, she threw a big ole “hissy fit.”  😩

Sausage & Pepper Pizza Pinwheels are a great game day choice, everything packed in one tasty spiral

Sausage and pepper pizza pinwheels thepaintedapron.com

Cheese, sausage, peppers, onions all rolled up in thin pizza crust dough

I used this new bacon lovers sausage, I didn’t really taste the bacon flavor, but it was very good

DSC_0004

Brown the sausage, remove from pan to drain on paper towels.  Cook the onions in the sausage drippings until golden and then add the peppers and cook until softened

DSC_0005

Lay the dough out on parchment paper or a silpat because it’s a little sticky-tricky to work with

NOTE: you can use pie crust, puff pastry, crescent rolls, just about anything.  I love this Pillsbury thin crust refrigerated dough, it has great flavor.  It’s very stretchy though so keep it in refrigerator until right before you are ready to use it.  It’s also very forgiving, if it tears just pinch it back together.  Adjust cooking times if you use another dough

DSC_0008

Pile on the goodies and roll up as tightly as possible

DSC_0011

The dough might tear in places where it’s thin, but don’t worry, you’ll never see it after it’s bakes

Cut into 1 inch slices

Bake at 425 for about 12-14 minutes

Serve them up~
