Take-out Tuesday, Sweet and Sour Chicken

Why get take-out when this mouthwatering chicken is just as easy to make, and you know exactly what’s in it~

Chicken, cornstarch, egg

You dip chicken cubes into cornstarch and then in beaten egg

and into a skillet to brown

when they have browned on one side turn over to brown the other side.  Don’t worry about cooking it through, if will finish cooking in the oven.

When the chicken is golden on both sides transfer the pieces to a baking dish that has been sprayed with cooking oil spray.

Now make the sauce

I am pretty sure you have all these ingredients, Soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, garlic salt and ketchup

Combine the ingredients in a measuring cup and stir briskly until the sauce is smooth.

After 30 minutes in the oven, start serving it up!

Serve it over rice with snowpeas, carrots and a sprinkle of cashews

Add a frozen eggroll and a little more sweet and sour sauce for dipping

My mouth is watering for sweet and sour chicken now Jenna! I love the rice with snowpeas and cashews too. I’d have to hide the cashews from my hubby or there would be none left to add to the rice. Your artsy painted chickens make me smile, especially the one that looks like she’s wearing earrings 🙂
