Take-out Tuesday, Chinese New Year

Happy Fat Tuesday!

We’ve been Mardi Gras-ing it up around here, but February is so full of holidays and celebrations, we might as well squeeze one more in and celebrate Chinese New Year 🎉

This year the celebration began February 8.  It lasts for seven days so there’s still plenty of time to celebrate…

One Chinese tradition is to decorate homes with red paper cut outs representing  good luck, fortune and longevity.

Well, I’m all for that!  Here are some Asian style recipes you can whip up to join the celebration-

Both of these dishes are 5 minute prep recipes and better than any take-out

Asian Short Ribs are a favorite at my house, I make these all the time~

Chinese New Year celebrations also include fireworks, so you might want to make these Asian Firecracker Wontons

This is my son’s creation, he’s famous for his wontons~ they show up at a lot of parties and can be made ahead of time and frozen

Those ribs sound delish! We celebrated with an Asian pork chop, oriental cole slaw and sautèd veggies. My red decorations included paper napkins. Simple, but festive. I wonder what the year of the monkey will bring us?!?
