I recently ordered some crazy cool jewelry from one of my blog buddies

Crafty Hope

Not only is her work unique and beautiful, her packaging is just as great.  The jewelry arrived attached sturdy paper boards made out of old book pages she colored and stained.  Plus they were wrapped up like presents in pretty papers!

She even included a gift of magnets made with buttons, washers, and books, professionally packaged in a clear bag with a stamped tag and thank you card…thank you Hope!

Another blogging friend of mine, Jodi at Life in Between, does wonderful watercolors and she and her DIL opened an Etsy shop where you can shop for vintage signs, and original watercolor cards and other goodies

One of my least favorite things to hear is, “I wish I was artistic…”

Everyone is artistic and creative!  You just have to be a little fearless

New Beginnings

One of my BFF’s asked me to do a large painting for her master bedroom that would bring in color into her gold and brown toned room, yet be relaxing.  She thinks she’s not artistic, but let me say she has quite an “eye.”   We created a shared Pinterest board so we could both pin ideas to it, and then decide what kind of painting, landscape, abstract, floral, etc. she would like the best.  I was blown away by all of her fantastic pins and was surprised to learn she loved the more impressionist style works.

The 48″ x 24″ size she wanted was perfect for an open landscape.  I incorporated several elements from landscapes she liked for her painting “New Beginnings”

The long winding path draws the eye to the distant rising or setting sun, representing the start or end of another day, and a chance for a fresh start or a new beginning…

twin girls rockers

Another good friend asked me to paint some furniture for her twin granddaughters.   What a totally creative and brilliant idea…why haven’t I thought of that!   head slap!

She knew exactly what she wanted, bows, trailing flower vines and the names on the rocking chair seats.  She practically did all the work for me!

The rockers have bows and the table chairs have monograms

Everything is currently “curing” and waiting in the garage for delivery this week

These abstract watercolors were painted by my 3 year old granddaughter CC

She’s definitely fearless!

So bottom line is that everyone is an artist in their own way, you just have to remember to be a little fearless… and tap into your inner child

Look for another painted apron giveaway coming up soon…

NOTE: while I was working on this post last week it published by accident, it wasn’t finished, and even though I took it down in less than a minute, some of you still got it.  Please forgive me if I confused you or if you are getting this for the second time 😳

I remember reading one time that by 3rd grade a child has decided whether or not she is artistic. It’s a shame really!! You have shown us several examples of ways to be creative. I appreciate the encouragement because I do not feel terribly creative usually. It’s definitely something that grows as you are brave enough to work on it.

Happy Thoughts of Home on Thursday. Congratulations to the winner. 🙂

Oh I forgot to tell you, I made the strawberry pretzel salad! We loved it and are conjuring up other ways to use the pretzel and cream cheese layers with blueberries and other fruits. 🙂

    Jenna,
Beautiful inspiration, but I am not a artist, I still draw stick people! However I can design a great outdoor landscape, does that count:) This is all just lovely and wonderful. So happy you shared it with us at Thoughts Of Home On Thursday!

Let me start by thanking you for your wonderfully kind and generous words about my jewelry and packaging. I appreciate it so much and am so very pleased that you like your new pieces. Thank you! It means so much to me that a lady of your talent likes my work. 🙂

Now, the other art that you’ve shared. Wooooo! Beautiful stuff. I’m about to head over and check out those card makers. The ones you’ve shares are super cool.

And your own work…what can I say. YOU are an inspiration. That painting is beautiful and those chairs are so perfectly adorable. Your granddaughter gets her talent honestly for sure!

Like you, I believe everyone has talent and an inner creative genius that they just need to find.
