Fearless Friday, Artichoke

My husband loves artichokes, so in honor of his birthday 🎂 today I am sharing a watercolor artichoke

“You’ve got to teach me how to cook an artichoke,” he said

“Okay, I’ll send you the link to my recipe, and you can make one while I’m gone this week…”

I painted this using  the “wet into wet” technique

artichoke 3

Wet the area you want the paint to flow into

artichoke 4

Drop in colors, letting them naturally blend together

The light source is from the right so the colors deepen towards the left or shadow side of the artichoke

I also built colors and depth with layers of color

Artichokes are full of different colors if you really study them

Looks good enough to eat!

I am happy to report that HH cooked an artichoke all by himself with great success!

Now he can cook one for me 😊

Be Fearless!
