Fearless Friday, Art in Bloom

Does art imitate life?

I don’t have a tutorial for this painting, but I do have a framing idea that might be considered a little fearless

I love to change the scenery on our mantel and often use this large empty frame

This summer I have a small painting inside this big frame and really like it, it’s different and unexpected

Try using a frame with a slightly smaller canvas and let the wall color become “the mat”

It’s also fun to use a large frame to highlight seasonal decor

Earlier this summer a flower arrangement in a watering can was inspired by this watering can pillow, and I realized one of my paintings was of a similar arrangement

It’s fun to do a floral arrangement or vignette based on a painting, and many museums feature Art in Bloom events

This a great way to get a lot of impact from a small painting or flower arrangement

    fun ideas Jenna!

  2. Jenna, I’ve been hoping to get to an Art in Bloom event and now I’m putting it on my calendar for next spring in Boston so thank you for reminding me! You are so creative and I especially love your floral arrangement in front of the painting. Linda

  3. Jenna, I just love your talent! As always, perfect!

  4. Emily says:

I love how you use your frame to decorate the mantle. It is unusual and very artsy. As usual, I love how you use color. Is is ok to mention the little French chair, love it!

  5. Leslie Anne Tarabella says:

I’ve heard of art in bloom and always wanted to see one. You would definitely win first prize if they gave out awards!

I love how you use your empty frame on your mantle, changing the interior for the seasons Jenna! As pretty as your blooms are, I keep scrolling back to the black and white and JOL…I’ve been looking at Halloween ideas on Pinterest )

I really like this idea, and since I’ve been painting on smaller canvases and boards, I can grab a few larger frames from our attic and copy this look. I just noticed your Alabama Women Bloggers button on your sidebar. I should join the group!

  8. My original comment just disappeared….I love this look and I plan on copying it with a few of my smaller canvases and larger frames.

  9. I think it depends on the day…To me sometimes life mimics art then there’s it’s the other way around…LOL

Loving your mantle painting. So bright and cheery for this gorgeous summer we’re getting this year.

  10. You have the most fun idea!
