Does art imitate life?
Or does life imitate art?
I don’t have a tutorial for this painting, but I do have a framing idea that might be considered a little fearless
I love to change the scenery on our mantel and often use this large empty frame
This summer I have a small painting inside this big frame and really like it, it’s different and unexpected
Try using a frame with a slightly smaller canvas and let the wall color become “the mat”
It’s also fun to use a large frame to highlight seasonal decor
Earlier this summer a flower arrangement in a watering can was inspired by this watering can pillow, and I realized one of my paintings was of a similar arrangement
So is life imitating art?
Or is art imitating life?
It’s fun to do a floral arrangement or vignette based on a painting, and many museums feature Art in Bloom events
This a great way to get a lot of impact from a small painting or flower arrangement

I really like this idea, and since I’ve been painting on smaller canvases and boards, I can grab a few larger frames from our attic and copy this look. I just noticed your Alabama Women Bloggers button on your sidebar. I should join the group!

I think it depends on the day…To me sometimes life mimics art then there’s it’s the other way around…LOL
