Fearless Friday, Charlie Brown Christmas Tree

Even though I’ve had a Charlie Brown type tree for years

Charlie Brown is a new favorite of mine!

So I thought it would be fun to paint a Charlie Brown holiday tree, and get a head start on holiday gift ideas

Anyone can have fun painting this happy holiday tree!

Christmas tree plate

I picked up these plates at HG last year

Such a simple jolly design made with lines and dots

tree-steps

The lines don’t have to be straight and the tree doesn’t have to be symmetrical

For the star you can make a central dot, then add 5 points out, and then add more paint to fill the points out to look like a star

Or, you can make 1 central large dot and surround it with smaller dots

This design would be easy to paint too…

But I had to stick with Charlie Brown…

For the large jar lid I painted it white

Added red dots around the edge

And tied it with a red ribbon

Fill jar with cookies, candies, cocoa mix or candy canes and you have an inexpensive holiday gift

I found a set of small jars at HG earlier this year that are great for spice mixes and flavored salts

So paint a few jars and get a jump start on the holidays!

Your very own little Charlie Brown — too cute! The things you have painted are cute, too.

  14. Connie says:

What kind of paint do you use, so it doesn’t wash off the dishes and it’s still food safe on the plate? Thanks!

    • hi Connie, I use paint that is specifically made for glass painting and that can be cured in the oven. It is not recommended for painting plate surfaces that will be in contact with food, and it also can be scratched. I use it for glasses or plate or platter borders. The kind of paint I’ve been using for years has been discontinued so I can’t recommend any specific brand but check your local craft stores or amazon.com, and look for an opague glossy paint, I think Martha Stewart and several other big names have lines. Hope this helps!
