The Organized Life, January Paint Bucket

2017…
Sounds like way in the future, right…
Nope! Happy 2017! Where did those holidays go? 💨
January is always a month of renewing goals, getting healthier, a new beginning.
After a month full of gingerbread and holiday foods, the flavor of the month for January is Citrus 🍋 🍊
Be on the look out for lots of refreshing things to do with citrus fruits in January
Here is the list of recipes I will be using for inspiration this month
See photos of these recipes, December recipes and other inspirations on my December/January Pinterest board here

Here are the recipes I made from the December Paint Bucket
Appetizers
Carrot Tart with Risotto and Almond Filling from Epicurious I did make this, but we were disappointed, it looked pretty, but I think that carrots just don’t have enough flavor to make this tart interesting, so I can’t recommend using them for a tart 😝
I cooked the carrots in an orange juice butter sauce and seasoned them well with salt, pepper and allspice but even with almond paste in the ricotta topping and buttery almonds on top this tart just lacked taste 😩
It makes me crazy when a recipe fails!! 😖
Sides
French Onion Zoodle Bake from Climbing Grier Mountain turned into Slow Cooker French Onion Ravioli Soup
Spiralized Pear Salad I love pears in salad, and spiralizing them really adds a special touch
Main
Asparagus Manicotti turned into Short Cut Asparagus Manicotti with Ham
Chili with Pasta turned into Slow Cooker Chili Mac & Cheese
Desserts
Peppermint Candy Cane Bundt Cake from Betsy Life turned into Gingerbread House Cake
Miscellaneous
Cream Cheese Cranberry Bread from Julie’s Eats and Treats turned into Cranberry Holiday Bread
Gingerbread House turned into a Gingerbread house decorating party
Candy Cane Reindeer turned into Candy Cane Easels
Melted Snowman Bark turned into Powdered Sugar Snowmen
I’ll be posting about these sweet treats with some other winter ideas soon
My favorite recipe from the December Bucket list is French Onion Ravioli Soup, the ravioli is a wonderful addition to this satisfying soup, and you can always serve your crusty bread on the side
Wishing you a warm and cozy January, Happy 2017!
