Tablescapes, Citrus Explosion!
The best part of winter to me is fresh citrus, especially big juicy grapefruit
This was a gloomy winter week, so I loaded up the table with an explosion of citrus for a weekend dinner party
I have a lot of things in sets of 2 and 4 so for this table for 5 I did a little mixing and matching
It basically set itself as my ideas were hatching
Oh the bright colors, fresh fruit and flowers!
We’ll be able to dine, relax and linger for hours
But Mother Nature had other plans for this soirée ❄️ ❄️ ❄️
Snow in the forecast caused us to move it to another day
The city shut down early for this prediction,
You never know around here if it will be a fact or just fiction
But snow or no snow, this room is aglow
with bright citrus and candles to warm this chateau
And our friends will join us instead,
for the Alabama game just ahead!
Coming up this week, I will show you how to make these citrus place cards along with some more citrus surprises
Oh, and by the way, we did have a little snow
Not much, but enough to ice over the roads and shut the city down for 2 days
But despite the 20 degree temps, and an icy patio, you can’t keep a Southern guy away from his grill!

3 woven brown square chargers, 3 gold goblets for the men
2 round orange rattan chargers, 2 green goblets for the ladies
5 oversize Napoli Platzgraff dinner plates, and square white salad plates {Home Goods}
mix and match orange and yellow dessert plates

Jenna, I love the colorful citrus table that you have set. For wintry days, citrus is so perfect. Along with the colorful dishware and the mixing lends even more fun! We had a couple of spoonfuls of snow at our house. Roll Tide
Spoonfuls? I figured you got 3 inches! We got enough for the boys to slide down the hill all day…sounds like we’re in for a rainy warm up this week. RTR!
Your table(s) – both of them! – look terrific! What better way to beat the winter doldrums than to see that beautiful display of bright, fruity colors and fruits/flowers!

It was actually ice, about an inch, we don’t have snow plows, snow tires or any city equipment so the city just stops for a day or 2! Supposed to be 70 next week 😉

Love the citrus explosion! That snow would not even make the news where I come from! LOL
I know, the rest of the country makes fun of us, but without the proper equipment, we can’t deal with the iced over roads. Luckily it was predicted in advance and most were prepared, stocked up and stayed home. 70s are predicted by Thurs!
Jenna, We’re housebound probably through Monday with our snow. It’s refreezing overnight as it melts during the day and as you know we’re not prepared for ice and snow on the roads below the Mason-Dixon line! Love your cheery citrus and colorful table. I know your guests will enough dining at both! My hubby and his family are BIG Clemson fans so we’ll be watching the game Monday night while biting our nails 🙂
Uh oh, we will be biting our nails too, it ought to be quite a game! Snow is fun if you’re prepared and have power, and none of my family got stranded and had to walk home this time 🙂 Stay cozy!

This all looks fresh as a daisy! I love citrus, the colors and the fruit. Can’t have grapefruit (boohoo) anymore because it interferes with statin drugs, unfortunately. It certainly is pretty on the table, tough!

Your citrus table is so fresh and cherry! Sorry, your guests had to wait. Our weather is crazy isn’t it! I’d rather everyone be home safe and sound than sliding into each other on icy roads.
Your Bama table is happy and creative too. Sure want to wear my houndstooth scarf Tuesday!
And just to give you a chuckle, since we’ve been gone the last 15 days, my Christmas tree is still up!! The lights are on tonight. Might as well enjoy it one more night. I’ll be taking it down tomorrow.
Thanks Bonnie, yes winter in the South is always interesting! We always have to take our tree down quickly because it’s always so dried out by Christmas. We replaced it with a silvery gold artificial slim tree to enjoy for the winter months. I know you enjoyed your trip, and I’m glad you could still enjoy Christmas when you got home! >
Indian River county where I live in Florida is known for citrus, especially their sweet grapefruit. The groves are being picked now and you’ve definitely given me ideas for table settings. Thank you Jenna. 🙂
