Take-out Tuesday, Brioche Bites with Raspberry Mustard

Happy Valentine’s Day!

You’ve heard the old sayings, “You eat with your eyes first,” and “Presentation is everything…”

Well, that’s what this dish is all about, eye candy

It’s just a simple ham and cheese sandwich

Except it’s made with French brioche rolls

And raspberry mustard

And it’s cut into small pieces that are irresistible to grab

And you can add extra sauce or jam for dipping

And it’s called Savory Brioche Bites with Raspberry Mustard

You can even add bacon if you like

You can assemble these ahead of time and refrigerate until baking

Savory Brioche Bites with Raspberry Mustard

Sweet and savory sandwich bites perfect for breakfast, lunch or appetizers
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
Course Appetizer, Brunch, Main Course
Cuisine American, French

Ingredients
  

  • 8 French brioche buns {Target}
  • 4 oz. sliced swiss cheese
  • 6 oz. deli ham slices
  • crispy bacon strips optional
  • raspberry jam
  • mustard of choice I used honey mustard
  • butter optional

Instructions
 

  • Slice brioche in half lengthwise.
  • Spread bottom halves liberally with raspberry jam and mustard.
  • Butter inside of top halves with butter for extra moisture if desired.
  • Layer ham and cheese on top of raspberry mustard and top with bacon strip if desired.
  • Add tops and place sandwiches tightly together in a square 8″ x 8″ dish. Butter tops of rolls and bake for 350 for 15 minutes.
  • Remove rolls carefully from pan and carefully slice them into halves or thirds.
  • Mix together additional mustard and jam and heat in microwave for 20-30 seconds to warm. Serve along with Brioche bites for dipping.

  2. Those sort of remind me of the Monte Cristo sandwich Bennigan’s used to have! Sprinkle some confectioner’s sugar on the bread and I do believe it’s very close. Yum!
