Take-out Tuesday, Easy as pie Danish or Dessert

I wanted to make the famous bread pudding with whiskey sauce from the Grand Hotel this month,

but I had a half jar of pecan pie filling, leftover from Pecan Pie Salted Caramel Cupcakes, that was begging to be used…

And a can of crescent rolls…

Which would make this stupid easy to make…

So guess what won out…

Yep, lazy easy…

I remember I posted a survey a while back, asking people how they felt about crescent roll dough and the results were overwhelming…

So many pro-crescent roll fans!

So… because this is stupid easy, it’s actually hard because apparently Spring is not “Pecan Pie in a Jar” season…

Which is totally unacceptable because it’s always pecan pie season in the South!

And isn’t the Kentucky Derby coming up, where Chocolate Pecan Pie is practically mandatory?

Soooooo, Pecan Pie in a Jar from Trader Joe’s and Williams Sonoma might be seasonal in their stores, carried for the November/December holidays, but you can find some now at King Arthur Flour here and at Amazon prime here

Pecan Pie Danish

Ingredients

  • 1 can crescent roll dough {Trader Joe’s if you can get it}
  • 1/2 -3/4 cup pecan pie in a jar filling

Instructions

  • Separate dough into triangles and place a heaping Tablespoon of filling on dough.
  • Roll up as best you can and place them in a greased baking dish.
  • Bake at 350 12-16 minutes until golden and dough is cooked through. Cool slightly. Serve warm with additional pecans and sauce drizzled on top. Top with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
  • Reheat leftovers 30 seconds per roll in microwave on high.

Don’t forget these other dangerously easy crescent creations you can whip up for Spring & Easter brunches, teas, or desserts

Lemon Filled Golden Egg Rolls

Almond Danish

2 Bite Cherry Pies

Blueberry Cheesecake Danish

Apple Rum Roll Cake

Raspberry White Chocolate Rolls

AND…

Wait for it…

Ahhh, the magic of crescent rolls…

It was so nice of you to stop by!
