Creations, Bottle Beauty

I had so much fun découpaging Fanciful Bunnies that I couldn’t wait to try something else

There were plenty of découpage papers left over

A cool bottle…

Mod Podge and a disposable sponge brush

I changed up the colors a little by using blue tissue and a multi colored dot tissue I had in my gift wrapping stash

My plan was to apply the papers helter skelter and then do finishing touches with paint

A recent weekend guest brought us this bottle of whiskey, what Southerners call “sippin’ whiskey”

I’m a Chardonnay gal myself, but he insisted I try…

“It’s like the Old Fashioned cocktail in a bottle,”  he said

A drink made by sweetening straight rye whiskey with rock candy and citrus peels. Slightly hot and peppery initially. Quickly gives way to a mellow, smooth sweetness – hints of rock candy, honey and citrus are subtle. Finish is long and slightly sweet.  source

Oh boy…

We all sipped on it through the weekend and let’s just say it wasn’t long before I had an empty bottle to play with  🤣

After the Mod Podge dried, I outlined the shapes and added gold dots with a gold leaf paint pen

Next I painted the glass swirls on the bottle neck

Turquoise and cobalt blue

I gave the stopper a quick coat of a combo of these blues

and added a flower

It loves to hang out on my sketching station

I am sort of crazy about hot pink right now…

What is your favorite spring color?

Juicy Details

I used Mod Podge underneath paper pieces to attach and then painted over them with more Mod Podge to seal.  I let the papers dry overnight and then used a gold leaf paint pen and acrylic glossy paint for details

I used cocktail napkins, gift tissue and découpage paper
