Creations, Sand Dollar Beachy Bottle
I can’t part with a pretty bottle
I have played with this particular whiskey bottle before, decoupaging it because I couldn’t get the label to come off
This time I decided to try milk paint {I found this at Walmart}
Milk paint is the poor country cousin of chalk paint
It does cover like a dream, but I must warn you, it smells…as in omg, what is that…
It dries very quickly, maybe even faster than chalk paint, which is nice because you don’t have to wait long between steps
I used sea glass, small tiles, glass beads and sand dollars from my craft stash
I like the flat white finish for a beachy, weathered look and the contrast to the glass textures
I used 2 different patterns, 2 sides have 1 sand dollar with sea glass and the other 2 sides have 2 sand dollars and glass beads
The glass beads are also called vase fillers, available at craft stores, and are flat on one side
The base pattern is the same on all 4 sides, 2 small horizontal tiles with a glass bead in the center
I added some stripes and dots with glossy acrylic craft paint
The topper is actually a finial from an old curtain rod and it fits perfectly!
I used a glue gun for this project, but if you’re going to use something like this outside for any length of time, you need a stronger adhesive, such as E6000
Glue the pieces on and secure with masking tape until they are set
Stop by tomorrow and see this bottle featured at a sunny seaside table
This would be a fun summer craft to do with kids too~
