Tablescapes, Pumpkin Farm

This is Take-out Tuesday with a twist today, I do have a great recipe to share but first let’s join the fun for Celebrate & Decorate’s Fall Tablescape Hop
I have been hopping with this group through several seasons, and you won’t want to miss any of their fabulous tables and ideas! A big Thank You to our leader Chloe!
Today we’re going to dine at a Pumpkin Farm to kick off the beginning of Fall 🏈
This particular pumpkin farm is located on the Alabama Gulf coast, where we are all praying for our neighbors just west of us in Texas and Louisiana…
Since the farm is seaside, most of the pumpkins are blue and white
You can pick your own for just $5
You will work up an appetite after pumpkin picking
Pour a beverage from one of the pitchers
Get comfy at the table
It’s loaded with fat burlap pumpkins and a grapevine one
Pumpkin plates and glasses
Pumpkin pillows in the chairs for lounging
White pumpkin salad plates atop turquoise dinner plates on orange rattan chargers with wooden handled flatware and a soft fringed cotton napkin complete the place settings
The tablecloth is actually a thin cotton rug
Lots of sea blues to enjoy the views
Today’s special is…
Pumpkin pasta!
Perfect after a busy day at the pumpkin farm and those evenings when there is a nip of fall in the air
Italian sausage & ham combine with canned pumpkin, a little cream, seasonings and Parmesan cheese to form a dreamy sauce for pasta
Make it up to 24 hours ahead of time, refrigerate and bake when desired
Pumpkin Pasta with Italian Sausage & Ham
2 links sweet Italian sausage
2 big slices spiral sliced ham, or your favorite dinner or deli ham
8 oz. penne, rigatoni, or any tubular pasta
1 medium onion, diced
3/4 cup chicken stock
1 cup half and half cream, divided
1 cup canned pumpkin [not pumpkin pie filling]
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
salt and pepper
4 oz. freshly grated Parmesan or Italian blend cheese
Remove casing from sausage and brown, crumble and drain. Saute onion in reserved sausage drippings and 1 T butter. When onion has caramelized, after 15-20 minutes, add ham and cook for a few minutes. Add sausage back to skillet and set aside. Cook pasta in salted boiling water until just barely done. Drain and put into a greased 2 quart baking dish. Top with meat mixture. Using the same skillet you cooked the onion and meats, combine pumpkin, chicken broth and 3/4 cup cream. Simmer over medium low heat, stirring to combine. Add cinnamon and nutmeg, salt and pepper to taste. Add half of the cheese and stir to melt. Pour sauce over pasta and meat in casserole and gently toss to combine. Drizzle with reserved 1/2 and 1/2. Top with remaining cheese. Cover and refrigerate for up to two days. Bake covered at 300 for one hour. Serves 6.
Variations: There are lots of ways to change this up, eliminate the meat for a meatless version, use ham, bacon or sausage only, or use leftover chicken or turkey.
Thank you for visiting the Pumpkin Farm today!
Hope you enjoy the hop this week visiting all these wonderful bloggers!

I love your seaside pumpkin patch Jenna! You have creativity oozing from your pores! I love how you transformed your pumpkin farm sign with paint. Your Pumpkin Pasta with Italian Sausage sounds perfect for cool, fall weather. I popped over to look at the weather in Orange Beach and it looked like you were under a flash flood watch like everyone in Harvey’s path. Hope you’re tucked away somewhere safe and dry. ♥
Thank you Mary, it is just starting to rain, we are high and dry, stocked up and ready to spend some indoor days, and pumpkin pasta is actually on the menu tonight 🙂
Love the mixture of aqua with orange!
one of my favorite combos!
Love it!!!
Your pumpkin farm is charming and so creative, Jenna! I love the aqua with the pumpkin colors and the little cotton rug was the perfect runner on the diagonal for your table.Your handmade pumpkins and handpainted glasses are adorable.I love the chevron pumpkin!
Of course, you are always cooking(don’t know when you sleep) and your pasta dish looks delicious.
ha ha, thank you Bonnie! We are just starting to get rain here, I guess it’s heading your way soon
Your fall table is just right for the shore and the colors still make me think of summer which I’m just not ready to give up. I’m crazy for pasta with pumpkin so your recipe is a winner. bTW, all is well for us in Houston and I am so grateful since we’re not there.
I am so happy to hear your Houston home is okay, it’s hard to imagine with all news photos, it seems like the entire city is underwater. We are praying for your friends and neighbors
Love how you have mixed the aqua with orange – great combo! Your pumpkin collection is adorable and looks even better with the ocean backdrop – you have a lovely view there! Hope the storm stays away from you!
Cute, cute, cute! I love the colors you used and your pumpkin farm theme is so fun. I am excited to be participating in the blog hop, too! Blessings, Cecilia

Jenna, what a delightful visit to your pumpkin farm! I love the combination of aqua and orange any season, but especially autumn. The rug is such a clever idea used as a table runner. All of your handmade items are perfect for the pumpkin farm. We are expecting lots of rain later this week, maybe as early as tomorrow. Stay safe~
How did I forget to mention the pumpkin pasta with Italian sausage, I would love that for dinner tonight…it looks delicious…I am a pasta loving girl!!!
Thank you Pam, we are having the pasta on this very rainy night
Jenna I love your colors. Aqua and Orange go so well together especially since you have DIY projects that tie it all together. I live on the other side of the gulf in SW Florida and I appreciate the use of coastal colors in a Fall setting. I will be trying your recipe as it sounds and looks delish!
Stay safe!
Jenna, I can’t believe we are thinking along the same lines: aqua (turquoise) and orange. What a great combination. Love your waterside setting. I also love to use pumpkin flavors in the fall and will definitely put this pasta recipe in my Pasta Board.
I am so wild about turquoise/aqua and orange — this really says happy fall to me!
Returned from Quebec and will try to catch up, though probably not catch every post! Have to see what you are up to!
Jenna, I love the colors that you are using on your table and the view from the table is so beautiful! I am familiar with your blog but I had no idea that you lived in Birmingham. I live in Trussville outside of Birmingham. The blogger from Living with Thanksgiving is from Alabama also. Funny that there is three of us today from the same state. Let’s keep in touch!
That is a fun coincidence! Thanks Sherry
Also Pam, Everyday Living, lives near Gadsden, that makes 4!
So many wonderfully creative ideas!! 😃 And your pumpkin pasta sounds delish! 👍
I love the aqua and orange seaside pumpkin patch! You rocked it with that combo! The Pumpkin Pasta is going on my menu soon. 🎃

Gosh, Jenna, as if that tablescape is not enough, you go and create a pumpkin pasta! I would definitely try that – looks yummy!
I love the fact that even though you’re still very much in summer season, you managed to pull together a nice coastal look that leans toward fall – very regionally satisfying to the eye! And I see palm fronds fading in the background, giving another hint of fall. Well done!
Jenna, What a beautiful table! I absolutely love the blues and orange–the layers, the adorable pumpkins, and the breathtaking coastal backdrop. (I hope the rain goes away quickly.) your sign is perfect. Your creativity is soaring!
